Riddle me this....
EDIT: Audiogon system would not let me edit just a few minutes after posting... A normal positive transient signal will cause a driver's speaker voice coil to push the cone forward.  A negative signal transient will cause the voice coil to suck ...
Riddle me this....
The term absolute phase just confuses the discussion. Signal Absolute Polarity is the terminology that should be used, imo... A normal positive transient signal will cause a driver's speaker voice coil to push the cone forward.  A negative signal ...

@antigrunge2 , Agree...   Standouts where a definite difference could be heard? Etta James, "Love Songs". Track #1, "At Last". Change? Etta’s Voice. Polarity inverted her voice was thin. Correct polarity her voice was full, a more moving prese...

Correct absolute polarity at speakers. Positive signal pushing speaker cone outward. Not negative inverted polarity sucking cone inward. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=axXrs55X9kE

@jeffseight  I suggest you try it and listen for yourself. Here is some reading material for you: https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/preamp-inverts-phase-question https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/amp-inverted-or-non-inverted-phase h...
Is this describing a blown tube, or two blow tubes?
Tube testers are not very good for matching tubes, you may be able to weed out a shorted tube though. I’m not sure vintage tube testers were meant to match tubes. I doubt TV repair techs needed to match tubes as a rule. I have a Hickok 6...
Is this describing a blown tube, or two blow tubes?
@tonydennison  Before installing new power power the bias pot(s) should be turned back (turn the bias pot(s) counterclockwise), so as to not over bias the new tubes. Not doing so can damage perfectly good new tubes. "Output tube bias should be s...
Is this describing a blown tube, or two blow tubes?
Last night there was a very loud POP and one of the tube went bright so I moved quickly and turned of the midmonos. The amps ran great this evening until just now, and another POP and bright tube, but it seemed like it was the other tube, but ...
System Static Issue
On average small signal tubes in ARC equipment lasts about 5000 + hrs. The static could be caused by dirty tube socket/tube pins contact. You might try pulling and reinserting each tube a few times one tube at time in each socket. Usually that wi...
System Static Issue
Tomorrow morning just turn on the Bedini Amp. Do not turn on the preamp for a while. Listen for the static noise. If you hear static it's not the preamp causing it. .
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
@strawj said: I had that Amp, the hum was unreal, it would hum Loud when it was off on standby and kick up in the morning when the Mr. Coffee came on. If I understand your post correctly the loud hum you heard from the Krell Amp was a mechani...
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
@ieales said: Verify that XLR pin 1 is connected to the line earth. It may have a low value resistance like 10Ω if there is a loop break. As for the Krell amp, yes pin 1 is grounded to the chassis through a resistor. Seems to be only a 2 ohm r...
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
@mofojo said: Preamp with nothing connected to it causes same issue. Did you install a ground cheater on the krell power cord like I asked? If yes, still a loud hum? Ground cheater on the Krell amp only. Nothing connected to preamp inputs... ...
Krell KSA 200s ground hum
Are you using the OEM power cord that came with the Krell Amp? Is there a ground loop hum with only the preamp connected to the Krell amp? (Nothing connected to any of the inputs on the preamp. No other type of ground wire(s) connected to the pre...
