I got a high pitch faint but annoying hum thry speakers.I don't think the problem is a earthed ground loop problem.A 60 hertz ground loop hum is not high pitched. It is a 60Hz low level hum.Is it possible you are getting a feedback loop somehow?

I assume the DVD player is connected to a TV....Is the TV connected to a CATV system? If so you are experiencing a ground loop. Disconnect the incoming CATV coax cable from the cable box and then check for hum.Post back results of test.

Al, If the front end source is a CDP, and basically the tape out jacks of the amp are connected in parallel with the CDP output, would that be causing the difference in sound Rpg is hearing? The output of the CDP is being affected.
