Vandersteen 3A Sig vs. Von Schweikert VR4 Jr. ditusa: I'm a little surprised by your statements. I own 3a sigs, with a turntable no less, and a Mufi A308 and I can report that the speakers are capable of literally thunderous yet highly detailed bass. On the Fence with Analog Vs. Digital. Need Help What kind of music do you like? I humbly think vinyl, (and SACD for that matter) shines best with acoustic music and a recording engineer who tries to capture both the music and the hall acoustic as well. Also, I think the "hassle" of vinyl is a l...
How often do you folks vacuum clean your albums? I have a VPI machine, yeah it was expensive (and loud), but I can't imagine being without one. Whether machine or DYI, people shouldn't be allowed to play used valuable records unless they have one. It's almost as irresponsible as unsafe sex.

I think it's simply inner groove damage, which in my experience is much more prevalent on choral, vocal and piano recordings; not just the old mono ones, but also lp's from the late 70's when light tracking force was all the rage. It is not supris...
Classical speakers that do violins well?? I love what my Vandersteen 3a signatures do for string sounds. Gorgeous, but...what is your front end? I know that this is controversial, but they couldn't do what they do without a turntable, the latter being the #1 most incredible improvement in... |
