Synergestic Research: SCAM Can anyone identify the music that was used in the demo? I really liked it. Thanks.
Synergestic Research: SCAM I listened to that video and do think I heard a difference- for the better. I do not own any SR products, have never heard any, and was not expecting to hear any difference. What I heard was a reduction in noise or distortion that is in the musi...
Harvard U. article on hearing loss research @devilboy, did you really need to bring religion into this? Sometimes prayer works, sometimes a placebo works. Even the most talented scientists can't really explain it. And I am a scientist (stem cells!)
Isolation Transformers: my experience and concerns That's quite a thread. Thank you, Randy.

Cartridge repair; re-tipping; canitlever replacement: The Needle Clinic A++ Another recommendation for Andy Kim at the Needle Clinic in Bellevue WA. I sent him my Linn Troika and while it still had some usable life left I decided to have Andy do a retipping. In less than 1 week I had the cartridge back on my turntable a...
Tonearm cable recommendations I bought an audio origami cable to replace the stock cable on my '86 LP12 / Ittok. Just make sure whatever cables you buy aren't too heavy and are dressed properly so they do not interfere with the suspension.
Experimenting with reversing polarity to speakers The few times I have experimented with reversed polarity I noticed a change in bass but I could not hear anything different in the mids and highs, at least in my room. What's going on with the audio market? Returntomusic, I concur. Not that there isn't a ring of truth in all the other posts but I think you nailed it.
Just moved to an apartment need speaker suggestions Former Maggie owner here. Since you mentioned Venere's and toy towers, I have a beautiful pair of Sonus faber cremona auditor M's in graphite maple with dedicated S.f. stands that would work well in any apartment. They look and sound gorgeous. ...
The best speaker you ever heard? One of the most impressive systems I ever heard was a pair of huge Soundlabs, can't remember the model as it was 20 years ago, but the amps were Classe 400W monoblocks, pre was audible illusions modulus 3a, and don't recall the front end. The spe...
Scotch? No thanks. Whats the best Vodka.? I must not have been sober back in 2009 when I last posted in this thread. At that time, I was enjoying Reyka Vodka from Iceland. I did my best to support their economy when it was struggling. Reyka had a commercial that mocked other vodkas: "t...
Telarc 1812 revisited 2 This is interesting. In the very early 80's I had a B&O table with B&O cartridge, mmc2 I think, and it tracked the cannon shots no problem. A few years ago my Linn / Shelter was unable to do so. Have not tried again since. |
