Isolation Transformers: my experience and concerns Currently, my preamp is the only component plugged into an isolation transformer. I concluded that this was the best combination and removed all other isolation transformers from my system. Interesting that you found the same results.
connect 2 different wire gauge to pos and neg speaker terminal @almarg One of the best posts I have ever read on audiogon. Your explanation seems logical, takes some of the mystery out of cable theory, and "almost" makes me want to fiddle with cable design. I do appreciate that it is more complex than it se...
Female Vocal Collection on Vinyl?? Looks like it's an ad from HDTracks. I did not see anything about vinyl mentioned.
Ayre Codex dac and headphone connections question Good advice, Bob. I appreciate it.
Ayre Codex dac and headphone connections question Ah. I suspect you are correct. That must be why Moon audio sells wire with two 1/8" amp ends. This makes total sense and sure makes it more convenient to attach and listen to headphones. Thank you, Mark.
Do female audiophiles exist +1 for Terri Inman and the rest of the crew at Stereotypes. Terri knows her stuff. Great sense of humor too.
Does my laptop need to be grounded when charging? Thank you, George. I will try a different one and see if it is better.
Does my laptop need to be grounded when charging? I tried flipping the polarity on the charger plug and no difference. I already own a Regen and was considering the ISO Regen upgrade or move to the Intona. Was hoping other Codex owners would chime in before I spend the additional $$.
Does my laptop need to be grounded when charging? Thank you, Erik. Some of these isolators are inexpensive while others such as the Intona ...
Jerry Garcia, A Legacy? I'm not a musician but I love music. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It doesn't matter which music moves us as much as the fact that it does. I enjoy the GD, I connect with their music. But every time I listen to BW "God only knows" I am...
Amps from the 1980's -- What gear holds up sonically? Reliably? This was a fun thread to peruse. Anyone mention Electrocompaniet or Superphon? Think these were around in the '80s.
Help my Rotel RCD 1072 make music JohnnyR, I am auditioning the Codex now and am very impressed with it It is dynamic, musical, revealing, and just plain fun when listening to music I thought I knew well. What an overachiever. Not quite as impressed with the toslink as I am wit...
Who is the WORST Audio Shop? One of my daughters went to the "U" and the other U Dub. Agree that Madison is a bad place for adults ;-)@jafant: ultra fidelis in mke.
Who is the WORST Audio Shop? The upper Midwest rocks. Plus I'm a sucker for blonde haired blue eyed women. Hope I don't have to issue an apology if not politically correct.
What are some of the downsides of owning a Magneplanar .7 or 1.7i ? Just thought I would jump in and share my Maggie experience. I started with the MG-1C in 1984. Moved to the 2.6R with the true ribbon tweeter. Most of the idiosyncratic characteristics mentioned above are true. But once you invest the time in ... |
