I would think Bricasti is a solid second-tier performer, in that it tries to squeeze as much as possible from a Sabre chip. But why pay more for less at this point, knowing what FPGA can do?

Art Audio Jota HC is a good choice for 300B SET sound with plenty of reserve power headroom at 24 watts per channel. Look for used at your price point.

Here's my advice:If you are a billionaire, buy $$$ DAC, since you can afford to throw it away when the next $$$$ DAC becomes available, and then throw that one away when the next $$$$$ DAC is released, $$$$$$, $$$$$$$, $$$$$$$$, $$$$$$$$$, $$$$$$$...
