Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
gotta respond to 'not very revealing'. the ohm line has a 'decades old' history of going for a neutral/balanced presentation. they favor no frequency. the 120 day trial is a chance to live with playing lots of music. many speakers(hi end and other...
Audio note amp driving b&w????
the audio note will not drive the b&w properly. this isn't exclusive to the b&w, just the nature of amp. it needs an extremely efficent speaker, which really is an entirely different story. what are you using now for power, and what are yo...
Naim CD5i a decent upgrade?
i have compared the primaire to a naim cd2, cd3(which i owned) and cd5i (which i auditioned). i wound up getting 'out' of naim cd players afterword. the primaire...pardon this overused description..was less 'in your face'....more like a revox or e...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
in a smaller room, the micros are incredible. in an average sized room, the 100's are going to play a bit deeper. overall, they are incredible...factor in the price, and there are really isn't much full range competition unless you want to fuss wi...

Yamaha NS-690II speakers, Great or just OK?
not in the league of the ns1000. it was a less expensive home variation of the brilliant pro monitor series.
Mofi Request Thread
licences for vinyl pressings are getting tougher to get. universal, wmg, and others are diving back into it with a vengence. as for requests...procol harum-salty dog...the yongbloods-earth music...cat stevens-new masters...moody blues-in search of...
Reference 3A Grand Veena
go with a veena or the l'integral and save some dough. spectacular performance, and really should be paired with a fine amp.
Best amp under $6k, in your opinion?
my personal pick(though not for all), symphonic line. otherwise ss classics like mac or mccormick...tube classics like arc or cj.....they all still compete with the new kids, and all have 'history' and perceived value. there are lots of great ones...
Yamaha NS-500 and NS-1000
THEY ARE STILL STUNNING...PARTICULARLY THE 1000. ITS ALL ABOUT CONDITION
Gallo 3.1 owners
the gallos are going to need the grunt of a push/pull type amp. you probably already know that moving to the gallo will give a less room dependent loudspeaker. they will also have a natural spaciousness, and they shouldn't be too fussy about amp m...

Speaker shopping Help?
go to the dali 800 if you really love the sound. they will compete with all the above, and you won't trade for another set of sonic issues. if you don't dig the sound, expand your search.
Marantz SA7S1 owners - stock or modded
modding classic equipment is like brush painting a classic auto. you may like it, but its very weird to everyone else.
