Whats playing on your system today? @jpwarren58 I was listening to The Richest Man in Babylon a few days ago on Tidal and went down the rabbit hole and found Thunderball, Bitter:Sweet and Air.
ReL Subs: High Level or Low Level connection There are advantages to both. Low level with a high pass filter to your mains allows the sub to do all the work at low frequencies and takes some burden off your mains. High level allows for easier integration imo. I used the high level speakon...
Best Music Streamer to pair with Rogue Audio monoblocks and Pre-Amp I had the HiFi Rose RS250A for a bit. It software was glitchy, the Tidal app started playing tracks at the wrong bit rate and everything sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks. Qobuz was fine as was playing from the internal drive. It sounded ver...

How cheap can you go and still be happy with the sound? The setup I had before my current one consisted of a Yamaha S301 integrated, some Polk Monitor 7s I’ve had since new in 1989, a Sunfire True Super Jr sub, and a MacBook Pro for streaming and digital library. I think it cost a total of $2000 or so...
New Acquired Sopra 2 My only experience is with McIntosh. I have an MA8900. The newer models MA8950, MA9500 or MA12000 all have HT pass through and I think would sound fantastic with the Sopras and would certainly have the power to get the best out of them.
Speaker candidates/suggestions I haven’t heard any of the speakers on your list but I have a pair of Fritz Rev 7 SEs that do well with all types of music. I’ve auditioned a handful of others looking to replace them at some point but they stood up so well I’ve kept them. I’ve ...
If you had to choose... I have Fritz Rev 7 SEs that I run in a small listening space not much larger than yours. I often listen at volumes lower than 65db, in fact I’m listening right now about about 45-50db and they sound fantastic. Even at this level they disappear and...
Amplifier for Dilemma B&W 802D3 For my money I think I’d go with the 611s.
Recommendations for really well-recorded music for high-end audio system demo @simao i agree, I was amazed at how deep and wide the soundstage is on that album. I’ve heard folks say they heard things from behind them when listening to that album. I don’t quite have that happening but it does sound like music is coming fro...
Recommendations for really well-recorded music for high-end audio system demo I think Fleetwood Mac Rumours is one of the best recorded albums of all time. k.d. lang Ingenue is also a well recorded album
Recommendations for really well-recorded music for high-end audio system demo Arne Domnerus “Limehouse Blues” from Jazz at the Pawnshop I might take some shade for this one but it’s really well recorded Madonna “Vogue” (It's not my favorite song but it’s done very well.) Zero 7 “When It Falls”
Gustard R26 finally excels via I2S input! I run a Denafrips Pontus II with a Hermes DDC via I2S. Before the addition of the DDC I thought the DAC was excellent but the after the DDC took it to another level.
Whats playing on your system today? Billy Joel Turnstiles. Just watched his 100th show at MSG I had recorded from last month. He still sounds so good.
Sound Quality @navyachts no apologies necessary my friend. Hope you are enjoying your new streamer. I’ve been on the hunt for one myself. Not sure whether to get an Aurender or an Innuos. |
