I've got a hum in my Sunfire sub..... try buying a grounding plug on the end that converts the 3 pin from the sub to a 2 pin for your wall. Often the ground pin causes the buzz.JWH
Is the Meridian 568 still good in 2005 YES, the meridian line are fantastic. I've owned the 561 and 568.1 and they are both fabulous. Meridian is the best processor for 2 channel and very capable for HT. Best of all, the 568 is current as it uses software upgrades from the internet. Yo...
best wife friendly monitor? I second the B&w n805 or S805. Good size and dark color makes them not stand out. However, to those of us that love speakers they have a standout look. Like a Rolex President, instantly recognizable.JWH
Rears: B&W S805s or N804s? With your other speakers, I would probably stick with the nautilus line. I have mixed the N805 and S805 in my HT and there is a timbre change between the two.
Meridian 565 w/dts update vs Classe ssp 25THX Sorry to underestimate your knowledge. I still don't think you can compare Meridian to Sony??? BTW, what kind of 150K two channel front equipment did you sell? You are obviously out of my knowledge base.
5 Channel Amp with Meridian and B&W I guess my options would be the Proceed amp 5, Cary 5, Bryston 9bst, or McIntosh 7106. I like the bryston warranty and the McIntosh build. I have some worry about the Proceed not being produced anymore, but know it's a great unit.
5 Channel Amp with Meridian and B&W How about a multichannel McIntosh like the 7106? How would it blend?
Meridian 565 w/dts update vs Classe ssp 25THX flrnlamb, you haven't known many HIGH END dealers. The meridian 800 series is considered by many to be not only the best HT unit made, but rivals levinson equipment for stereo reproduction. Given the 500 series isn't as good, but look at the revie...
B&W N 805 vs. N 805 Sig. Opinions? No question the sig. is better than the nautilus line. I own both currently. I must say that Dr. Chris needs to lighten up. These forums get to heated with opinions. The fact is the sig. is better than the nautilus and then only the buying individ...
Active crossovers and commercial home speakers? How about meridian speakers, aren't they active?JWH
JBL lovers Not surprised the cremonas aren't to your liking on classic rock. If you go for the classic JBL, please don't get raped and sell your cremonas for a good price. These are tough to get secondary to all the praise and you should be able to more than...
Spendor Audio vs. B&W Nautilus Speakers Must say labtec, your comment "erroneously recommended by some for HT" is pretty arrogant. If you prefer Spendor that's great, but to say those of us who prefer B&W are erroneous is pompous and not needed on a message board for audio lovers. I...
Spendor Audio vs. B&W Nautilus Speakers Agree with the rel and nautilus. This is a great combo.JWH
Sound Proof??? Along slappy's lines: go to a neighber after playing loud and ask if they heard the annoying bass. As bass in non-directional it's hard to disginguish exactly where it's coming from. This way as word starts to spread, you were one of the early com...
Good question, lots of answers. Ok guys, play nice. This is supposed to be about sharing the joy of audio. Not demonstrating who has a physics degree in wave dynamics. |
