B&W N803 vs. Revel F30
Why not save yourself a bundle and try a pair of Maggie 1.6's, if you have the space? Huge wide and deep soundstage, and simply amazing is the best way to describe their sound. I too like the N803's allot (haven't heard the Revels), but when you h...
Best 200 watt x 5 amp for the money?
I think the Outlaw Model-755 is easily the best bang for the buck five channel amp out there. I've read that Outlaws are actually ATI amp's with a different face plate. 200WPC@8Ohms and 300wpc@4Ohms with all channels driven 20Hz to 20Khz, two tran...
Outlaw 755 vs B&K reference 7250
I'll have to disagree with the others. I think the 755 is the better amp (actually a ATI with a different face plate).Just about all the power one could need, great quality, great price, great warranty. It is not a warm or cold amp, but just very n...
Review: Axiom Loudspeakers M-80ti Speaker
I've seen numerous rave reviews for these speakers, but I ordered a pair and sent them back within a week. Expensive listening session, cost me almost $200 in shipping, so belive me, I tried hard to like them. It's hard to explain what I didn't li...
Review: SVS subwoofer 20-39PC+ Subwoofer
I have one for trial, but it won't be going back. I've owned a few subs, Infinity Kapa-212, Definitive Tech PS-15, Klipsch (can't remember model, had 12" driver), and a NHT-SW3, and have heard numerous others including a few I really liked by M&am...
Speaker recommendation - 3K budget
Maggies, and although the 3.6's are definately the way to go if you can afford them, you might find the 1.6's are all you need/want.
NHT 2.9 or B&W CDM9NT
Your going to kick your self for not getting he Maggie's. I've heard the others (owned the NHT 2.5's)and there not in the same league as the 1.6's IMO. You can add a good sub later and you could also spend less on the amp and have money for a sub....
searching a new pair of speakers
If you have the room get the Maggie's. For Jazz and vocals I've not found a speaker that will match them at any price range. But, they do take a good deal of room to work properly and placement is critical. Once set up they are the closest to the ...
Best value speakers available
Another vote here for the entire Magnepan line, especially the MMG's at $550 shipped to your door. I've heard speakers costing three times as much not sound nearly as good. Limited deep bass impact, but they will just pull you in.
Are the "Outlaws" for real?
I own the model-950 and 755 combo and couldn't be happier. I've never owned what is considerd the really high end stuff, but I have owned numerous components from Adcom, Rotel, Onkyo M series, Yamaha, Denon, Sony ES, Fosgate, Parasound, etc., etc....
Round Two: Best Speakers for LOUD music and rock??
This is an easy one. If your looking for loud, I'm talking loud, clean and detailed rock speakers, get the older Klipsch (the real one's). Klisph horn's, LaScalla's and Cornwall II's. They will knock you out with 100 watts, but if you want really ...
PSB Gold,tweeter upgrade.
I have the Gold i's. Are the drivers your talking about for the Gold's or the Gold i's?BTW, they are a bear to drive. I shut down my Outlaw model-755 which is rated at 300WPC RMS into a 4 ohm load, and although I was playing them loud, it was not ...
Snell Reference A Tower v. Paradigm Studio 100 v2
I've learned through the years to disregard the snob appeal factor. I refuse to buy a speaker that only sounds good with this type of music, or needs this kind of cable, etc., etc. I've found the speakers I'm happiest with are those that "always" ...
Best speaker new or used 2,000 for ROCK?
Second the vote for the Paradigm-100 or Stratus Golds. However, both deserve all the power you can give them. For a lower price and a speaker that takes up less space, also look at the Dahlquist QX-10's or the Axiom M80Ti.
