ENTIRE SYSTEM NEEDED TO SELL First of all, very sorry to hear the news. We all send our condolences, I’m sure. Can you tell us his Audiogon name? That way we would likely be able to see his system and make recommendations for you on how best to sell. Again, very sorry for you...
I think I've Just Seen Absolute Proof That Audiophiles Are Insanely Gullible Should be great for putting more longterm load on a TT motor than it was designed for...
In a lot of these threads people say without the room being treated I think there are countless ways for audiophiles to both wander into, and out of, the many pitfalls involved with the subject of room treatment, but I would agree with others here that it's very easy to overdo it and you usually have to find some ...
Overcoming ba(e)droom accoustics The Wavetouch Grand Teton (2.0 or SE) may fit your bill. Their horns provide the narrow dispersion with a nice, lively sound and a very deep stage. Their measured 3db-down point is about 43 Hz, but may well go lower in your small room, of course. ...
Neutral electronics are a farce... Yes, I’d say you were not exactly correct, but for a different reason. This exact problem is one I found a solution for after stumbling onto Alan Maher Designs in 2010. I keep going on about AMD, from time to time at least, and nobody may pay me m...
A brief respite from the usual pablum... That's awesome (loved the John Williams touch)
Amps which are Great, but either Unknown or Underpriced +1 on the Job 225.
When I have seen people listing their systems lately Any deviation from Redbook means a new format. New players, new software (discs). It’s a vicious circle - in order for a new format to succeed, people have to buy both enough of the discs And enough of the players. If not enough people are buying ...
Do you think audiophiles are the most gullible hobbyists Ha ha! :-)
Do you think audiophiles are the most gullible hobbyists Oh, I see...appreciated ghosthouse. Maybe I was just being...uh..gullible.......or maybe no. I'll let ebm have his say...
Amps which are Great, but either Unknown or Underpriced Crown XTi 2 amps are very interesting...and just downright killer if you have a rather good power conditioning solution and speakers with passive crossovers you’ve been looking to upgrade. These amps have free software you use to access a suite of...
Is it really night and day It all depends on what "night and day" means to most people. But, maybe if you replaced those Bose 301’s you’ve been using in your $100k system with upper end Magico’s....THAT I think would be night and day.;)
Do you think audiophiles are the most gullible hobbyists I suppose I just might deserve that...I do get pretty wound up sometimes, I'll say that. Sorry if I come across that way, I’ll try to refrain
Do you think audiophiles are the most gullible hobbyists I think you can learn how to avoid most of it, especially after you’ve been burned a couple times. But, I don’t think there is any way a legit seller can market, hype, promote or sell a product that a snake oil salesman can’t appear to imitate.
When did good gear start getting your attention? I'd had offhand discussions a time or two leading up to then about what gear might possibly be considered good, but it wasn't until the late 60's that I heard my first bona fide hifi: a friend of my brother had an all Mac system paired with Bose 9... |
