Ayre CX-7 vs. Meridian G08 ?
Since I am in the market to upgrade I recently listened extensively to the CX-7 at my local dealer (he thought it would give me a sense of the Ayre sound since I'm interested in the new Ayre universal - which he didn't have at the time). The CX-7 ...
Favorite CD treatments?
The product that Larryi is referring to is manufactured by Audio Desk. I have heard redbook discs that have been beveled by this device but recently here on Agon someone mentioned that there might be less than satisfactory results with hybrid discs.
CES and AYRE
Ah, thanks Driver. I would have thought Ayre would have employed Vandys rather than Wilsons, but what do I know? I'll give it a listen at the end of this month. Anybody else?
CES and AYRE
Apparently Ayre must have been stuck in a closet somewhere. Didn't any Agoners wander into Hansen's hooch? Not a good sign.

Wash your hands before you handle your discs.
Furutech RD-2 vs. RD-1
It's my understanding that Furutech increased (doubled?) the degaussing time. I own an RD-1 and haven't felt the need to replace it (yes, it does have a beneficial effect).

Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Thanks Alex. I have other some other concerns but I'll wait until after CES to run them by you.
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
Alex, what are the substantial differences, if any, between the 3910 and the 5910; that is, what would be gained by modding the 5910, and what would be the cost beyond suggested retail? I apologize if these questions have already been addressed.
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
AVGURU, I have a 2910 in my HT system and it may end up going to APL or Exemplar for mods, but my music system will remain 2-channel...for now anyway. Short list for my upgrade includes the Esoteric X-01, and the Meridian 808 (absolutely exception...
Esoteric DV-50: Any cdp's Significantly better?
This has been a very informative - and entertaining - thread. Since I am in the process of upgrading my digital front end I have appreciated the sincere efforts and opinions of all involved. Tbg mentioned the Einstein, which he intends to check ou...
Comparing Wadia vs. Meitner
Thanks, Frank. I've looked at your system on a few occasions and I 'm compelled to echo what others have said: fantastic. I can only imagine how those Kharmas really sound in a properly treated room. Cheers backatcha.
Comparing Wadia vs. Meitner
Frank, what is the predominant music you listen to? And can you describe your listening space as well?
Amazing Solo Piano Recordings
Phineas Newborn - 'Solo Piano' originally released by Atlantic (1672) in 1974, now available from Collectables. Some folks find Newborn too self-indulgent (in contrast to Powell, Tatum or Peterson) but this collection of standards allows Newborn t...
Copper vs. Silver interconnects
Howard, setting aside the obvious issues of taste and synergy... I was (and still am) a big fan of Siltech, most recently using SQ-80 balanced interconnects (which had replaced Kimber KCAG). IMS these ICs ran just to the bright side of neutral but...
