VPI Traveler and Lyra Delos $2k is a lot for a cartridge. By all accounts the Lyra is worth it, but you probably need at least $5k table/arm and $3k phono stage plus really good cable to get the most out of it.
Needle just gets stuck in a particular spot of the record ! What is going on? Speaking of new copies, I recently bought by mistake Miles's "Bitches Brew" Mo-Fi reissue. Well, first the vinyl looks like it's hundred years old, real bad, and second they screwed up the re-mastering by making everything sound nice and even, the...
Best integrated up to $6000 Don't know, maybe he could tell us, but it's up to him.
Reel to Reel uses - Norman,If tape handling is smoother and the electronics is much better, how can it not sound better? I would guess it should.
Reel to Reel uses - livin_262002, I meant in terms of sound. Does Studer actually sound better than Otari? Otari is wildly used in small studios too, as I heard.
Reel to Reel uses - Norman, thank you. I will still probably go with the Otari series two or three. Unless I unexpectedly can afford Studer 810.Is it significantly better than Otari?
Why do some dealers Well, it could be both. Many people prefer 'drinking by the label', myself included just not 'one label' but few.
Best integrated up to $6000 fliz, your eXemplar is all over this forum. You must be a little tired, you could give your keyboard a break.
VPI Traveler and Lyra Delos Agreed, you would do better by upgrading table/arm first and cartridge/phono second. At least I think so.
Reel to Reel uses - To hard drive - sure- but also dub to another new reel. It will last for decades if handled properly. I have 25 years old cassettes, no or almost no sound deterioration.I was thinking about getting Otari within a few years, but perhaps I should al...
Reel to Reel uses - CDRs will vanish too, dub to hard drive.
Latest Absolute Sound No books, no music. Just refrigerator, TV and guns.
Needle just gets stuck in a particular spot of the record ! What is going on? The tracking force is set just a little higher than average, I had it near minimum before, but it sounds better this way. The anti-skate is less than medium. Overall this is best to my liking for the records I listen to.No other record like this, ...
Why do some dealers Unpaid bills and personal preferences aside, it is about profit margins, I guess. Whatever they can negotiate. Sometimes they are bound by strict conditons if they want a good profit. Live free and be poor, that's not their game, I suspect.
Reel to Reel uses - How does this Pioneer compare to Otari ? |
