$10K-15K short list? Oh yes and Michael Green Audio, though I doubt you can audition them anywhere except in Las Vegas. My choice would be either Michael Green or Lansche speakers. Add to this Lamm, VAC or Ypsilon electronics and you will be set for life, long life.
$10K-15K short list? Focal Utopia, Lansche and Classic Audio. Don't know how they would work with your electronics, but when getting high level speakers one must be prepared to replace the electronics and cables or it may be all for nothing.
whats the very best sounding cables for realistic money It's Echole. Sorry.
whats the very best sounding cables for realistic money Cables are as much hearing dependent as they are system dependent. That's, the better you can hear the more you will be in financial trouble. Great cables are expensive. Some would suggest trying at least mid-level Purist, Ecole and Stage III.
Record Cleaning Mystery Pure water rinse is always a must, in my opinion. I do double rinse. Okki Nokki machine, not yours. Play couple of uncleaned but not too dirty records or clean a few records manually and see what happens.Checking the stylus condition was a really ...
Help me to choose turntable below 1600$. I'll just mention Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm because no-one has. If you can find it used. I doubt you could do better for this kind of money, only different. Stock record mat should be replaced. The arm works well with a wide variety of not hea...
AC power supply for Nottingham Analogue I use PS Audio Power Plant Premier with my Spacedeck. I plug in it my integrated amp, phono and tape deck too, but you could use it just for the table. I suppose, it's not a full substitute for a dedicated device, but it made quite an improvement ...
Fastest way to correct hifi system? The OP doesn't appear to participate. No matter.I would always choose the speakers first. Analogue or digital or both is the next step. In any case, if you want long term satisfaction - don't rush it and prepare to spend enough. It's Vladimir Shush...
Think twice before concluding some thing sounds better Mapman, I bet you are thinking of an upgrade.I always focus on an entire sound picture, though certain aspects can be obvious right away. Fine tuning is another matter. And different is, well, different.

Do you clean your records before play, after play, or once (and then never again)? Czarivey, I don't use alcohol based solutions and I don't want to clean one of my records one hundred times to prove you wrong. There appears to be quite a number of people who clean records often. Most though not all of my records start sounding ...
Help with MC Cartridge Recommendation to Swap from Ortofon 2M Black MM What do you hope to accomplish with this move? Personally, I don't even think of going with MC for under $1k. If you don't quite like the Ortofon, you could try Rocksan or Nagaoka MM, but again I don't know your reasons for wishing to have a MC.
Do you clean your records before play, after play, or once (and then never again)? This is not the case what you don't see won't bother you. Record may look just fine when in fact it is very dirty.Yeah, it amazes me too that some don't pay attention to proper record cleaning. But cleaning before each play is probably too much, w...
Do you clean your records before play, after play, or once (and then never again)? I use Lyra stylus cleaner, it is claimed that this solution will not affect the glue. So far everything is in place, as far as I can tell, the needle is still where it should be. It cleans well too, and I think is anti-static as well. Excellent st... |
