I want to buy new speakers for 50,000 and see it used for 30,000, what should I do?
Don't stop at 50k . . . go for 100k.
Need new pre amp
I have tested XLR vs RCA and can't tell a difference on my system.  Using mid priced after market cabling.  @jbuhl  , are those truly balanced circuits you are going in and out to and from?  Or are they "balanced in name only" (BINO)?  At least...
Most Musical 6NS7 tube for a Preamp?
What does "musical" really mean? Ha ha!  I remember a thread on that very subject, @ps  , read at your own peril. "what does musical mean?"

???Pre Amp Service???
I just now stuck an edit in there about my pre being noisy when I got it running again due to bad tubes, but that would not have been related to sitting. Your question would be better answered by someone like @atmasphere ,as all I know how to do...
???Pre Amp Service???
I know that there have been threads on this very subject, and I remember some one advising that if a component was coming out of a long period in mothballs it was good practice to use a "variac" (I am not sure about the spelling) between the compo...

Is there a clear definition of what "Integrated" means?

Looking for 5AR4 rectifier tube most like solid state
It’s getting closer to "good enough". We’ll see if the Mullard takes it over the finish line. Otherwise, a pivot to another preamp may be required. Good luck in those regards.  Let us know how it goes for you.   I have read posts from both side...

. . . I just thought of a similar thread (questions about 5AR4 for a SLP05) a while back ago.  It may or may not be helpful to you, so I'll post a link to the discussion: 5AR4 for Cary SLP05 thread

@grizzly:  any luck with experimenting with placement?
Where Do I Go from Here?
I sometimes question the sanity of that I can relate to that.

I've had a SLP05 for a few years now (at least three, if I remember correctly) with the Ultimate Upgrade, and I love the sound of mine.  I'd go so far to say as it may have been the most significant upgrade I ever made.  Unlike you, I am not findi...
Recommend me a tube integrated amplifier
Someone always answered the phone when I needed to speak to someone. That is always worth considering.
