Accuphase and Luxman both come with tone control in their preamp.

@kalali, The first issue I have is when I turn the volume up very high, even with the tonearm at rest, if I tap on the tonearm I can hear the tapping noise from the speakers. I checked the ground wire and it is tightly connected to the preamp. ...

If your receiver is a Sony STR-DN1040, which WITHOUT pre-out jack, you can't directly connect it to a McCormack DNA-1 power amp!

I always use a test record when I install a new cartridge, and use it as a reference to check the cartridge.
