Do Recording Studios Use Silver Cables
Correction: The Wall, not DSotM which was recorded @ EMI Studios, now called Abbey Road.
Do Recording Studios Use Silver Cables
And recorded some of it and mixed at Producer’s Workshop, one of the least "advanced" studios in LA at the time. But oh, the sound...
Do Recording Studios Use Silver Cables
The engineers don't take the time to even match lengths, let alone brand. I carried my own cables, mic pre, eq, level control, amp and speakers. My company did studio installation. Some studios were very specific as to cable, others, not so mu...
Do Recording Studios Use Silver Cables
Fools prattle on about silver, ignoring what make cables sonics differ. Dielectric and geometry explain six nines of cable sonics. Internally, electronics have umpteen metal, plastic and resistive interfaces. SS gear adds uncountable metal / semi...
Do Recording Studios Use Silver Cables
Somehow, I don’t think top recording artists give 2 sh#%s what the cables are made of. As a class, recording artists are like any other. There are some that extremely knowledgeable and some who are completely ignorant. Just like audiophiles. 🤣
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
That is indeed true but it does not mean that a decent quality trained ear can’t hear the differences in resistor qualities in a well executed circuit. so the idea of swamping does not hold true. Apples and oranges. As stated previously everyth...
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
Link all components, the Vishay foil have a 'sound' due to the leaded construction inductance. I question the use of 'naked' foils other than for cachet as they are subject to both mechanical and environmental conditions. Fanatical resistor preci...
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
typo: 1kw/ch 😕 2x 300w for dual woofers 1x 200w for mid 1x 200w for tweet Three terminal regulators - how true. An engineer who once worked for me and is now a big shot @ AD says ’brand name’ is no longer a guarantee unless you can prove th...
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
One must be aware of "too much of a good thing". Depending on the equipment replacing all the Brand X parts with Brand Y may not yield the anticipated results. What many fail to realize is an 'amplifier’, be it phono, line or power, circuitry is ...
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
All components have sonic signatures. Whether a particular part is suited to a system can only be evaluated in situ.   Beware of FanBoy recommendations.
Best resistors for use in phono stage?
What passes through the loading resister goes to ground.  The signal going to the rest of the phono stage does not pass through this resistor. Incorrect. Ground is a reference to the Earth Safety. Zero Volts Audio (0vA) is the signal reference....
Buffer amp no gain
Placette’s Q&A is a largely bollocks. If there are only two resistors active at a time that means there are multiple contacts added in the cct and all contacts are audible and the number should be minimized. Every part has a sonic signature ...
Buffer amp no gain
128 steps is overkill and can negative cable consequences. If one has to use more than the middle 10 of 20 the gain structure is messed up somewhere as in 700mV/500w amp on 101dB/2.83v speakers.
Buffer amp no gain
I never thought about the contribution of those transformers to the sound   E V E R T H I N G contributes to the system sound, including the room, furnishings and weather! So when someone says a specific product is the MIRACLE CURE, hightail ...

It's PHONO. UK phone connectors are similar to a Ethernet jack with pins on the side. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_telephone_socket Autocorrect?
