Recommended cheaper vintage SS Integrated Amps?
I own a KA-3500 and love it. Punches way above its 40 watts and has a wonderfully clean sound. It's often overlooked with people always going to Sansui or Marantz. I also have a Harman Kardon 330c receiver, and I think this is actually warmer than...
British Integrated Amps
Forgive my comment concerning Scottish/British reference...I meant true English company. But really, isn't everything owned by IAG anyway? :)
British Integrated Amps
In one of my rigs, I'm currently running Linn Basik/Akito>Audiolab 6000a>ProAc Tab 10. Sounds amazing. But really, that's two former Scot companies and one true Brit. I also have a Rega P1 using Mission 737R speakers that I thoroughly enjoy ...
Bookshelf/Small Speakers
I've really been enjoying a pair of ProAc Tablette 10. Clean, articulate, great separation...perfect for a smaller room.
Help Me Improve My Turntable Set-Up
I agree that the Schiit setup is probably holding you back a bit, if you're in a room bigger than a small office. But could there also be an expectation gap here? In one of my systems, I have ProAc Tab 10s, which are close in specs to Harbeth, and...
Article on Quad 303/33
I've really been interested in a 303/33 setup. I've been looking but not much going on in US...I'd have to buy and ship from someone in UK or elsewhere in Euro. In the end, it's going to be packaged and shipped regardless, but I'm thinking of ship...
Very small, warm and dynamic speakers
I can vouch for the ProAc Tab 10s. Super clean, articulate, musical, absolutely outstanding for a small room setup. But they're more than your $1000 budget new.
Best bang for buck integrated amp for $500
I use a PSAudio Sprout100 in one of my systems and it kicks plenty ass. Great phono stage, DAC, plus Bluetooth. Super clean and powerful. New is $700.
Second hand components that can still kick butt today
I have a few systems in the house, but I use my vintage setup the most...Thorens TD-160 > Sansui AU-999 > DLK 1 1/2. This system continues to outperform my modern equipment.I'm super intrigued by the Robertson now!
