Sound is better when I stand up? holmz no headrest, but it is a wingback. I wonder if that’s an issue @simao What is a wingback? Is there a image of the model of chair? (If there is some place for sound to bounce off of it can cause a problem.) Have you tried a simpler chair...
Sound is better when I stand up? Does the chair have a headrest?
Balanced vs. Single Ended Interconnects A balanced vs single ended cable, both being of similar CONFIGURATION, They are not the same configuration. For starters on have 3 wires and the other has 2, will transmit the waveform with identical defeciencies, therefore sound the same....
SPL when designing You know that they make an FA252 and FA253 ?
Accuphase E-408 voltage conversion In ^that case^ then once it is on the transformer, the electronics place (or the tech) probes the remaining taps to see which one has 220/240v. Then that is hooked up to the mains, and the 100v tap is disconnected. One unconnected transformer ta...
Accuphase E-408 voltage conversion A photo of the inside might help… Or a local electronics repair place. They just put on a transformer and measure the wires from the other transformer taps to find the right ones. On my Audible Illusions line stage, the transformer is either 110...
SPL when designing @jgoldrick which model Hypex? FA25? On @erik_squires point… There is a built in DSP on the FA model Hypex amps, but I do not recall if they do a pass through, and/or DSP on that pass through. Are you running the tweeter with a simple capacito...
Accuphase E-408 voltage conversion I would try reaching out to Accuphase directly. My preamp and phonostage are fed by a power supply which provides 12V, and the manufacturer sent a jumper from Europe and the instruction sheet for converting it from 110v to 230v. (Another US manu...
SPL when designing I doubt it. Just have the preamp feed both, and set the Hypex gain to be complimentary. It might need more “loudness” when the preamp is down low. Is the sub sealed? You probably want to pay attention to group delay more than SPL (IMO)
VTL - Wilson Sasha Best Damping Factor setting ? On p48 of the manual they talk about resistors in parallel on the MR and tweeter. Two 3ohm resistors in parallel is 1.5 ohms, so you releasing any monkey grip on the drivers with those resistors, and I doubt that damping factor will make a huge di...
Atma-Sphere Class D… Amazing It seems to me that designers who build Class D amps from scratch with their own discrete circuits are the players to watch and buy from. Ralph of Atma-Sphere, AGD, and others fall into this category. Those using off the shelf class D modules are...
Out building for sound. The dream ver$e$ reality I suppose the stone also acts as a diffuser if it is rough.
Balanced vs. Single Ended Interconnects OK @mceljo - if you do not want to take the time and try them, then it will be hard to determine if the inexpensive ones will work just fine or not… and also will be hard to understand what the $200 cables would do that the cheaper ones would not ...
Out building for sound. The dream ver$e$ reality Wall studs will be staggered and walls filled w/ sprayed foam. I would suggest that go to an acoustician, as it is possibly better to use some of that stud area for bass traps. If it is foamed in, you are sort of stuck.
Nearly all manufacturers do not advertise/exhibit their product measurements? Why? @mapman that was subtle… 😎 |
