Zu Omen Defs and Ice Amps? I realize I am late to this thread, but I recently purchased a pair of Omen Defs and are running them with a Wyred DAC-2 directly to Wyred SX-500 mono amps. Sound is absolutely spectacular (to my ears and my tastes). There are so many variables to...
upgrade suggestion please for Zu Omen def I just pulled the drivers on my Omen Def and it looks like the capacitor value is 1 uF. I have sent a note to Zu to confirm that. I think I will try that upgrade (that looks to be one of the differences in the Superfly).
Acoustic Zen Absolute or Audience Au24e? I have never heard the AZ Absolute, so I cannot comment on those. However, in my system I went from the Hologram II to the Audience Au24e and it was a significant change. The Au24e are fast, detailed, airy, and very musical. Things just sound 'rig...
Review: Tyler Acoustics Decade 1 (D1) Speaker Desalvo55,I have owned the D1s for over a year now, and I have to agree with Pettyfeversk -- I have stopped 'analyzing' the music and simply sit back and enjoy them (I have a review of the D1s as well you might be interested in). I do not think yo...
Tyler Decade line Vs. Old line I would agree with Dawgcatching. I owned the Linbrook Signature for a couple of years as well, and still own the Linbrook SuperTowers along with a pair of Decade D1s. The D1s are faster, throw a larger soundstage, and really excel in speed and cla...
Wyred 4 Sound.....Anyone????? I went from a Bryston 4Bsst to the Wyred ST-1000 and have not looked back. Extremely quiet, dynamic, excellent imaging, and runs cool (very important when you live in AZ where the summers hit triple digits regularly!). I was so impressed with the ...
Has anyone listened to the Wyred 4 Sound ICE amps? I have owned a Wyred 4 sound ST-1000 now for about 4 months and am very happy with it. I run it with a Bryston SP2 processor and Tyler Acoustics D1 loudspeakers and think the sound is excellent. The Wyred seems to be a very neutral amp -- is not e...
Tyler Decade D1s The D10s will have 10" woofers instead of the 7" in the D1s. Seems like it would be for large rooms (8 10" woofers -- now that will be able to move some air!).
Tyler Acoustics D1: Listening impressions Mike, thanks for the Sumiko recommendation -- I had not heard about it, but printed out the process I found on the forum and will give it a try.Bret.
Tyler Decade D1s For those who are interested, I just posted a review of the D1s. I have found the D1s to be a great sounding speaker, and like Mike, my wife loves the look (my pair is in the Cherry finish).
Speaker cable upgrade from Analysis Plus Oval 12 For 2-way speakers such as the Preludes, I would recommend the Acoustic Zen Hologram II bi-wire cables. They are specially made for 2-way speakers, and I have found them to be very good. The Oval 8s are very good as well -- quite a bit of a step u...
Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Super Towers Bartokfan, I was also worried about the 4 7" mids overpowering the T25 tweeter, but that doesn't seem to be a problem at all. The Millenium tweeter is simply amazing. I was a ribbon tweeter guy all the way back to the older Infinity EMIT tweeters,...
Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Super Towers Hi Bartokfan,I chose the Super Towers over the Lin Sig System in that it throws a larger soundstage, according to Ty. Also, I have an excellent subwoofer, so what I wanted was a 'large' monitor (the Towers have the MMTMM config vs. the MTMWW confi...
Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Super Towers Steve,The Super Towers sound very similar to the Sig Monitors but just have a 'larger' sound all around. They have a deeper, taller and wider soundstage than the Sig monitors, but not in an unrealistic manner. Both are very good at pinpointing the...
Tyler Acoustic Linbrook Super Towers I realize this thread is way old, but I happen to own both sets of speakers, so I might be able to offer some insight here (I was asking this same question when I bought my speakers, so this might help someone else). I started with a pair of the S... |
