Parasound A21 vs Bryston 4bsst 2
I'd recommend against a preamp with an integrated DAC. While I understand the convenience factor, digital technology is advancing at a blinding rate. It's the one area of my system that I expect to be obsolete quicker than any other. Being tied to...
Kevin gets the
"It does appear as though Cary is headed downstream since Dennis Had's departure."I was agree with this. Most of the newer products definitely have that "made outside the USA" feel to them, and not in a good way.I've listened to a few of them and ...
Parasound A21 vs Bryston 4bsst 2
"In other words, for those who say get the Bryston, is it twice as good as the Parasound?"Absolutely not, IMO.
Audio Research LS26 vrs REF 3
If you can afford the REF 3, do it.
Mark Levinson 326s, an upgrade over the JC-2?
I've owned both and yes the 326 is in a different league. I'd be happy to discuss specifics with you if you like.
Looking for Help - LS27 or SLP-05
I've owned both and preferred the Cary by a significant amount. It has more of the tube attributes than the LS27 did in my system, and was just better essentially in every aspect. I would probably still own it if it had more remote functions (chan...
Preamps better than Parasound JC-2 ?
I agree with Stevecham. The JC-2 is an amazing piece at the asking price.
Krell 2250e or ML532H...which one to buy?
I'd go with the Levinson.
Can I run 4 ohms into 8 ohm speakers?
Agree with JMC. If so you could wire them in series creating a 16 Ohm load, but it sounds like you are wiring them in parallel and blowing stuff up. Be careful.
Wilson Alexia vs Raidho D3
I've heard neither of these amps/preamps.
Do you indulge when listening to your rig?
Usually a nice whiskey and some ice-cubes.
Parasound JC-1 vs. Pass Labs X350.5
Cant' go wrong with either IMO. I own the JC-1s and absolutely love them.I've listened to the X350.5 at my dealers showroom countless times and could easily live with it.The JC-1s just seem a bit better however in high-bias mode, especially in the...
How Do You Calculate Watts Per Channel?
In your first scenario the full 400W are being SHARED among all the drivers. For sake of simplicity lets say there are 2 drivers, and assume that they have exactly the same impedance and efficiency. Therefore the two drivers will perfectly split t...
How Do You Calculate Watts Per Channel?
I was not trying to state what Wattage was being consumed by the speakers at any given time, merely the theoretical power available which is how I read the OP's question.I think most people think of this question in terms of a perfect 8Ohm load an...
How Do You Calculate Watts Per Channel?
If you are bi-amping with 2x200W (@8 Ohms) amps then yes you have 400WPC (@8 Ohms). As Al said above, the instantaneous power is a function of the impedance of the speaker at a given frequency as well as the power supply of the amplifier.Utilizing ...
