ESOTERIC K-07X VS Mcintosh MCD 550 Which is better ?
Esoteric over Mac every day of the week when it comes to digital.
Speakers (and system) for a small-ish room
I'm selling a Focal Dome sub/sat system.  It's a fantastic setup for a small, high WAF package.
Most overrated bands
In my mind Elton John is near the top of the list.  I literally cringe when his music comes on the radio.
DAC recommendation
Micromega MyDAC.
Diana Krall
Saw her last night in Durham, NC and thought it was a great show.  Her band was amazing and while I agree she doesn't have the most dynamic range, we really had a great time.
Audio Research Ref 3 VS Mark Levinson 38s
Completely agree with @jmcgrogan2  that there shouldn't be a $2k price difference.
Audio Research Ref 3 VS Mark Levinson 38s
Nobody is saying buy them both... can't you audition them?
What's in your CDP tonight? the minority report
Dire Straits / Dire StraitsSuch an amazing album.
Diana Krall
Going to see her this weekend with my girl.  Really looking forward to it!

Steve Miller Band greatest hits '74-78.
Ayre QB-9...listening impressions
Couldn't agree more.  I recently picked up the DSD version and am floored at how good this DAC is.
Best used DAC for $250?
@jsbach1685 Sorry, I didn't realize you needed it to be POWERED by the USB port, otherwise I wouldn't have recommended the MyDAC!!
Dated but still A rated DACs
Ayre QB-9 DSD is still an amazing unit.  Digital doesn't get much better, and certainly not at the price point you can find a used one.
Best used or new DAC under $3500
Having just gone through this, I ended up with an Ayre qb-9 DSD.  I know I can sell this and not lose any money should it not live up to my expectations.  I looked at the Mytek Brooklyn DAC+ but didn't want to deal with some of the support issues ...
Pass Labs 250.8/250.5 or mark levinson 532h
I don't think you can go wrong with either option.  I may give the nod towards Levinson due to the synergy between brands (Revel).
