Any Thoughts On These? I tried them extensively thanks to Crutchfield generous 2 month audition policy. I decided not to keep them and it only cost $10 each to ship them back. This was last summer. I think they are fantastic speakers and they were too bright in my space...
CD vs.same CD ripped to HD @rnm4 I see better. I was ripping a lot of my cds, too. Now, I'm not sure I need to since I can find them all on the web.
CD vs.same CD ripped to HD I’ve gone back and forth between a Node 2i and my Cambridge CXC. Very, very hard to hear a difference. For me. YMMV.With a CD player, I commit more to listening to several tracks on a disks. It’s nice to have that focus. Yet, on a streamer/HD, I c...
Your favorite OCC speaker cable And once again, I jump off a thread I started because the capacity of civil dialogue falls apart. Thanks to those who gave serious and polite replies.
Your favorite OCC speaker cable Thanks @lalitk I've got a solution. Found a 14 ft single cable of AP Solo Crystal Oval 8 used at The Music Room for $699. I checked with Analysis Plus and I can send them the cable to be cut and re-terminated for $39. TMR was willing to go down to...

Inheritance ($100K) with a caveat This is like the "What's the best ice cream flavor?" game for adults with discretionary income. Have fun, but buh bye.
High expectations when listening to an orchestra +1 @millercarbon I have so many memories of terrible sounding shows. Seeing the Dead in a hockey stadium from far, far away. Hearing Art Blakey at an outdoor show where the sound bounced around and made my ears hurt. Hearing the Colorado Symphony ...
Is D for Dry? Class D... I've heard good things about Lyngdorf.
Solid state amplifiers and sound stage, especially front to back "depth" @niodari Thanks for that. Being honest, I cannot say I've heard the "echoey" aspect of the tube sound stage. Then again, maybe I've yet to hear the right gear. May I ask what your solid state and class D gear are? Thanks. |
