Which TT to keep? SP10, 124, 301, L75, B12H
With the exception of 301, I have owned all the turntables mentioned and I personally think the stock silver version of Empire 208 is the most visually appealing design in vintage turntables. I believe the VPI Classic is inspired by that. Simple a...
Which TT to keep? SP10, 124, 301, L75, B12H
Sell the Thorens TD-124. I had three before and sold them all. I just wish I held on to them longer after Art Dudley inflated their prize. Currently the most overrated vintage gear. The ROK B-12H is just noisy due to that monster Ashland motor. Go...
Any idea where to find Micro Seiki tonearm parts?
.Hi T_bone. Any idea where I can find a Kenwood headshell for the KD-770D, the one with the straight armwand but uses SME style connector with angled detachable headshell? So so very hard to find... Thanks!_____
TW-Acustic Arm
.Dertonarm: "My reservations with either tonearm is the amount of bearings and moving parts involved in these designs. My reservations here are about energy transfer and the rigidity. But I will soon have the change to work with the Simplicity in ...
TW-Acustic Arm
Hi Dertonarm. I agree with you about the common amnesia of recycling ideas. However, I haven't forgotten about the limited products of the pivot tangential arm genre through out history - recently I am accumulating data and researching on this gen...
TW-Acustic Arm
Dertonarm: "Besides that - hardly anything new to mention. Micha Huber showed off his Thales and Simplicity tonearms at Brinkmann's and TW of TW brought the white (?) labeled black bird to Munich. They all had their fans and admirers dropping in a...
The pivoted arm experiment is over
.Logenn: "I can not comment on the wonderful review between the ET and the 64s, because there are so many factors that could influence the test."Thanks for the nice description and review of the FR-66s. I just want to point out that the FR-66s is ...

Building high-end 'tables cheap at Home Despot II
.Salvatore wrote in his latest update on the modified Lenco. High praise indeed! http://www.high-endaudio.com/RECENT.html#Apr - - - "This is what I can state at this time: With the turntable and tonearm now optimized (though maybe the tonearm is s...
Are linear tracking arms better than pivoted arms?
I love cilantro. I usually make soup out of it with left over rotisserie chicken. I wish I can get that kind of flavor in audio.
want new plinth ideas for direct-drive turntables
You don't need Sansui or Micro-Seiki for direct-drive, because you already own one of the best DD tables ever built, the Kenwood L-o7D. :) I own a Kenwood KD-770D and it's super smooth with probably the lowest torque among DD tables. It has a flui...
want new plinth ideas for direct-drive turntables
.I never own any Sansui turntable, even though I am a huge fan of their tube gears - awesome output transformers. I am not familiar with that model but I don't think the motor is all that interesting. And judging by the look of it, they might have...

I love this plinth!! .
TW Raven 10.5" Tonearm
.The tiny bird doesn't bother me. A 1" diameter round black sticker will take care of it and while you are at it you can poke a tiny dot on the sticker right over the pivot point so you can use it for cartridge alignment if you have a protractor. .
TW Raven 10.5" Tonearm
Just put a black sticker over it and just peel it off when you decide to sell. .
