High Current Outlet for Amps?
cleedsA 20A device on a 30A breaker doesn't meet my local codes and probably isn't consistent with NEC, either. Sorry,  but I don't understand.  What is a 20A device?  All I'm trying to convey is that the outlet for a 20A or 30A device is the same...
High Current Outlet for Amps?
Way to go for it!!
High Current Outlet for Amps?
@gr8av4life  The 20 amp receptacle is the same as the 30 amp one!  No difference at all.  You are just running 10 gauge wire connected to a 30 amp breaker in the service versus a 12 gauge wire connected to a 20 amp breaker. All of my system compone...
Vandersteeen 2wq (or any sub) in small room
I've had Vandersteens for over 30 years.  I've had the pleasure of phone conversations with RV and met him many years ago.  He knows of what he speaks!  John Rutan at Audio Connection has a more congenial manner than RV and as has been said here, ...

High Current Outlet for Amps?
I had a 30 amp line put in for my system and use a PS Audio Premier Power Port for the receptacle. As Dave said above, the cost difference between the 20 and 30 amp circuit is minimal.
Looking for SACD player............
Thanks to the accolades many of you had for Modwright and a lot of reading about their mods., I sent my Marantz SA8005 away. Dan and Kristen were great to communicate with via email. They answered within a couple minutes on more than one occasion....
Looking for SACD player............
@dlcockrum Thanks for the link.  I just finished reading that thread. Lots of well-conveyed sound impressions of pre and post MW mod.
Looking for SACD player............
Has anyone had the opportunity to compare a stock Marantz SA8005 with the Modwright modified SA8005?  I would love to read about that comparison.  Here's hopin'.
Help, My Vandies Sizzle
When I had my 2Cs they were attached to "Supervanderstands" which were spiked to the floor.  If your stands have screwed in spikes, try turning in the rear spike completely and turning out the front spikes a bit to tilt the speakers back.I agree w...
Clean away old CD treatments
@gdnrbob    Just curious, you said you heard a "significant difference" between a demagged disc and one not so treated.  Could you elaborate on the nature of the differences??Thanks!
Hi-Fi Tunig Fuses & Parasound A21
Like most anything that impacts the electrical circuit of a piece of kit, break-in is necessary. Obviously this requires patience, a virtue few of us in this hobby possess in abundance. I don’t have an electrical engineering degree that might help...
Is it a OK to leave tube pre-amps powede up 24/7
After looking over this entire thread, it appears that the approach to this conundrum varies based on the preamp you have.  Different circuit topologies must be kinder or less kind to the tubes when left on 24/7. Vive la difference!
Hi-Fi Tunig Fuses & Parasound A21
I blew my hifi-tuning gold rail fuses in my Revision A+ of my McCormack DNA-1. MY bad.  After calling Steve McCormack he discussed his preference for the silver star over the classic gold and supreme fuses.  He was disappointed that Hifi-ftuning s...
Volume Increase of decrease as system improves
I would agree.  As the sound of my system becomes clearer and cleaner I do tend to listen at louder levels than before. Really fine software whether vinyl or digital, also tends to lead to louder levels.  One thing, my experience is that every ind...
