Best CD lens cleaner
@audiosensWhy do you feel a need for such a device?
Melody Gardot - Which albums to buy?
Listening to the "Live in Paris" EP included with "My One and Only Thrill" UK Special Edition CD. Beautiful open "you are there" sound quality. Very vivid sounding applause! There is something very unique about how Melody enunciates consonants. Di...
Parasound JC 3+ Phono Preamp Hum
OP - Many years ago I discovered that when my house was built, the guys hooking up the wiring in the 200 amp service did not tighten down all of the ground connections.  Taking appropriate precautions, I opened it up and tightened up the grounds. ...
Parasound JC 3+ Phono Preamp Hum
OP - Have you called Parasound to see what they think?  By all accounts the JC3+ is purported to be a fine sounding, well built piece of gear.  My 25 year old Aragon 47k with Isolated Power Supply developed a persistent hum as well.  As it was the...
Melody Gardot - Which albums to buy?
@noromance   I forgot to thank you for your post.  I really appreciate it as I will know to be wary of her LP releases.  It would be interesting if there was a European released LP that we could compare to what you are hearing.
Melody Gardot - Which albums to buy?
@noromance   I read your post above just before receiving "My One and Only Thrill" CD today.  I note that your comments refer to the LP of that release.  Specifically, I bought the European release which includes a second CD of "Live in Paris".  T...
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
@perfectpathtech  It would obviously be foolhardy for you to reveal all that has gone into the R&D of the E-Mat.  I would hope most of the sharp minded folks here get that.  Being a strongly dominant left-brainer, I like to know as much as pos...
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
@amg56  re: your 5:09 post   Very well said.  It seems that sometimes those who have a vested interest in the topic, in this case the promoters of the E Mat, do express emotional reactions to those who are skeptical or more importantly as you ment...
Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
@roberjermanBased on your post above, we may be misunderstanding one another.  When you said "Component and wire burn-in is just a delusion (no scientific or engineering basis). Mechanical things (speakers) can benefit from some use - electronics,...
Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
@dill   You may be right about Rule #1!    I hope roberjerman is kidding about not hearing a difference as gear burns in.  If not, that's just sad.☹️
Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
@roberjerman😦You don't believe in burn in for cables and electronics?  WOW.  It must have been a rough 42 years!😧
Liquid Amps
@labtec  Couldn't agree more about the modified McCormack amps.  I recently had a new driver board, wiring and jacks installed by Steve and Co. The sonic performance far exceeds the price for the upgrade. Regarding your comments about listening to...
Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
@dill   Good Call!👍
Need cable to soften brightness just a little?
OP - Experience by most 'philes suggests that your equipment will definitely benefit from a good burn-in.  "Brightness or Brittleness" is often what you might expect from gear that has been long dormant
Perfect Path Technologies: Omega E mat
@oregonpapa @grannyring   Gotcha!  I wasn't expecting details as it would not be to Tim's benefit to make them public here.  I was just looking for a basic premise that the Mat's design is based on.  Thanks!
