Amp showing its age?
@ozzy62  Appreciate the reassurance on Coda. Though the Parasound really was losing its grip. I never upgrade without provocation. Too many other costly priorities in life. @stringreen  LOL. Maybe I should have bought Ayre way back when.
Amp showing its age?
@jimmyblues  Guess I simply took the amp for granted until after the warranty had expired. But can't complain after 11 trouble-free years. Recapping may give it a new lease on life -- in someone else's system. No point in my keeping it given my ag...
Amp showing its age?
@8th-note  Not surprising what logistical problems you would have with repair or resale at the old monster Krell level. Given your good fortune with repair, sounds like a lifetime amp and good investment decades ago. I will definitely advise buye...
Amp showing its age?
@lynn_olson  Mine is a case of gradual relaxation on driver grip, most noticeable in the bass. I was actually enjoying the bottom end end harmonic distortion, but when a notorious high amplitude signal in the low impedance frequency range threaten...
Amp showing its age?
Wish someone around here did. I live in the wilderness. Where are you?
Amp showing its age?
@bigkidz  Good news indeed. Much appreciated.
Amp showing its age?
@chenry  Makes total sense and no doubt you are right. Thanks, I will look into that.
Amp showing its age?
@chenry, @noromance  Never had it checked out, nothing replaced, but warranty had expired before I noticed the slippage in performance, and the thing weighs a ton and is long discontinued. Of course you must be right. Guess I will sell it with a n...
Solo streamer
Been down the same road. Started with Cambridge Azur 851N, the big brother of your CXN V2, and found the SQ lacking over time. Moved to Lumin, but didn't care for sound presentation or control app. Next was entry-level Aurender (now discontinued) ...
Audiophile grade passive impedance buffer
@invalid Fascinating, who knew? Not I. These seem to have balanced OUT, but no balanced IN. Versatile and reasonably priced. Thanks.
Audiophile grade passive impedance buffer
@armstrod What a fabulous piece of gear! I would buy that thing simply on principle. Now awaiting a dealer response. Do you personally use it? @czarivey Heard rumors of that one but could not track down a specimen.
Audiophile grade passive impedance buffer
Guess I just need tips on where to find a suitable impedance buffer. My own search turned up nothing promising. BTW, Mfr says "output impedance is primarily resistive. This means it should behave consistently across different frequencies." Believ...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
@markmuse Although the S5.5 is listed as one of many "instant ship" items from Destination, on Monday 6/24 I got this confirmation from James: "there is (not "we have"') a silver S5.5 unit that is scheduled to ship next Tuesday (meaning 7/2)." At ...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
@markmuse Turns out there is a Widex dealer near me and will call them tomorrow, thanks! And I should have thought not to discuss marketing in the forum. Just spotted your unit online, questions answered. Though too late for me personally as I put...
The new Coda S5.5 amplifier: It's a "Petite Beast"!
@markmuse Audiologists: yes, been down that road. They have no clue. But looks like I can buy direct with no prescription (as I gather insurance doesn't cover). Did you buy online or for a dealer? Thanks in any case as I was having no luck finding...
