Does upgrading the clock always improve the sound? Great Northern Sound will mod the Resolution Audio gear. You might want to do some reading on their site.

Pre Amp for Adcom What about the sound of your current system would you like to change/improve? What cables are you using? What is your budget? Knowing some of these things will help members make better suggestions.
tubes and analog While it isn't clear as to whether or not Raul knew or was made aware that the Atma gear was pre-owned, calling the attempted listening session an "audition" certainly was a bit inaccurate. When I think of an audition, listening to a dealer's prop...

Beating the RVG Horse I have only a scant few of the original vinyl, but quite a few Classic Records re-issues. I also have a small selection of XRCDs. Anyone that has heard any of these three knows that the quality of the original master, while not always fantastic, s...
tubes and analog Reading this thread over the past several days has been entertaining, to say the least. I've learned a few things from all of the technical discussion...mostly that I know very little.Like a previous poster stated, I'd look to the tubes in the AES...

Balanced in phono stages preamp? Ralph and Herman are speaking Greek as far as I'm concerned.I do, however, very much enjoy the sound of the phono stage of my Atma-Sphere MP-3!
Ugrades on the Linbrook Signature Monitors Several years ago I used DH Labs cabling in a second/budget system, and had an idea as to its sonic signature. I had Ty build my Linbrook floorstanding monitors with the Cardas cabling, and I couldn't be happier. It's worth the little extra $$$.
Seas Millennium Break-in time The Linbrook monitors are rated at 4 ohms, I believe. My Linbrook floorstanding monitors are rated at 8 ohms, but seem to sound their best hooked up to the 4 ohm taps of my VT-100. Different speaker and amp, so probably not very helpful for your s...
System advice If you did go with a preamp like the LS-15, which has SE and XLR inputs/outputs, you can always upgrade to balanced cables when the budget allows.
Seas Millennium Break-in time I have never considered the speakers to be "rolled off" at all. They are a highly resolving speaker capable of reproducing what the rest of my system has going on, and allow me to hear quite accurately the difference/s in a system change. The bett...
Seas Millennium Break-in time Making sure that they are level will assure that they are as stable as possible, and can improve the overall sound. As with any other speaker, you'll want to have an area rug on the floor in front of the speakers...the hardwoods are quite reflective.
Seas Millennium Break-in time Both stands are well designed, but the Model 1's are a bit more stout. While the brass cones are nice, they won't pierce the carpet as well as I prefer. You may want to consider a true spike as a replacement. If they are coupling well to your floo... |
