Why so few high end line arrays? Comb filtering is a problem
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Raul, thanks much for the recommendation for the Sumiko!
VPI Super Platter - where is it? The new platter is very heavy and therefore, cannot be made out of only aluminum. It is heavily damped internally. I am impressed by Macdadtexas' comment and his "proper" a/b. Nuff said!
Help me identify old cartridge. I think it is a Monster Alpha 2
30 ft rca run too long for a phono to preamp? Mike, is your suspension on the tt working properly or is it getting hung up? I seem to remember the 147 as a sprung mount suspension.
Sound quality degraded with phono-stage in path Do you have the phono pre hooked into the integetrateds phono input? If so, that will sound BAADD...

Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? What about supergluing the cart to the adaptor?
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Hello Raul, I did get one of those Sumikos. I'll report back once I get it mounted and dialed in. Looks like they're all sold. What do you think is the best way to very securely mount the cart. to the adaptor?
Establishing a common analog listening bias I agree with Eric.
Record Cleaning Machine RCM I think Bill calls "manual" as an rcm that one must rotate the record yourself, versus "automatic" which the rcm rotates and vacuums. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Thanks Raul. I have a medium mass arm (10-11G) and wondered about the compatibility with the Nagaoka as well as the Reson.
Record Cleaning Machine RCM Hey Eric, have you tried a towel or a piece of carpet under the machine? It certainly helps lower the noise. It is a great machine, isn't it?
Record Cleaning Machine RCM Tubetan, the spindle is hot because the motor is hot. You may try stopping the platter and letting the fluid soak on the record for a minute, it will help keep the motor cooler as well as giving the record fluid some time to work.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC? Has anybody heard the new 2000 series of Goldring cartridges? |
