Best amplifier for low to moderate listening levels I know it’s considered all things evil to an audiophile, but have you considered: https://www.schiit.com/products/lokius OR https://www.schiit.com/products/loki-max I bit the bullet and purchased the Lokius, could not be more pleased. $300 vs ...
UPS Driver Literally Drops Package with New Hana Umami Red Had a similar experience with FedEx.. I just got my Acoustat TNT200 rebuilt and Monoblocked by Roy E. FedEx truck pulls on front of my house. I'm outside waiting, she slides the door open, reaches above her head ro grab the box. I watched it ...
So you just took a gummie...What song is on the menu? Steve Miller Band Macho City
Warmer class D amps for magnepan? I would just look for a used Classe amp...CA200 or Fithteen... No Class D on my Maggie's
Thinking of Magnepan ... finally! There are a few things I could tell you. See if you can find a place to audition before you purchase. I've owned several models, 2.5R's up to 20.1's, one thing I would say is none of them were lacking in bass. Maggie's have a different take on b...
What is the VERY BEST CD album you've ever heard? @heretobuy . I grew up with Fats Waller's grandson, his great grandson is actually an NBA player.. I grew up in a famous area in NY where there were tons of musicians and artist; James Brown, Fats Waller, Count Basie, Leana Horn, heck even Al Rok...
How do you find time to enjoy your $$$ speakers and system? To me, listening to music is a treat that I don't get to do every day, but when I do, I can spend hours sipping and listening. I work from home and have the blessing of a 1700 SF basement with a dedicated listening room. About twice a month I tell...
8-10k budget suggestions please I've never listened to B&W speakers, but it seems lots of people here are not very fond of them. You may have a nostalgic attachment to them? If the speakers are not that great, no matter how much you spend, they will never live up to the pote...
How long do speakers last? My Acoustat Spectra 33's were built in 1988. 35 years old. I had the interfaces rebuilt last year, but the panels seem indestructible. I had the interfaces rebuilt as an upgrade, not because they weren't working . Enjoy the Music
Budget amp that will give Magnepan 3.6Rs better depth of soundstage One of the first amps I had to drive my Maggie's, (2.5r,IIIa') was the Harmon Kardon Signature 1.5, that was a great lil power house. Very musical. I'm sorry I sold it.
Budget amp that will give Magnepan 3.6Rs better depth of soundstage I'm reading posts from people telling you , your room is too small, get a tube amp and so on. My first pair of Maggie's I listened to them in a small room, I still enjoyed them. Of course after I moved and got a larger place, they sounded much be...
Budget amp that will give Magnepan 3.6Rs better depth of soundstage I would look on Audiogon or another site for any vintage Classe Amp with 200 wattsper channel. CA200, CLASSE 15. something like that. You might get lucky. They are good power hungry panels, but they do reward you when you feed them well.
I feel bad for Generation X and The Millennial's I think our Grand Parents said the same thing when they were our age about us missing out on great music. Most of what I listen to is Not new music.....

amplifier longevity My mid 1980's Acoustat TNT200's worked when I purchased them last year. I just had them rebuilt and modified by Roy Esposito, a former Acoustat Engineer. They worked 35+ years before I had them rebuilt. I suspect they will outlast me... |
