Hi Warren, I have answered offline with a PM. It's in your eMail in-basket. Guido
Esoteric x-03 se vs ARC cd3 mk2
Saxo, I have listened to a DV-50 and an UX-3 in the same room with the same music on the same day two weeks ago. . . . unfortunately it was not on the same system, so my findings are very suspect. My outward impression is of the DV-50 to be warmer...

Interesting Leonx, did you experience the X-01 to manifest a form of arythmia? I am also not terribly sure about the meaning of the word organic in this musical context. Please let us know. Guido

And if budget permits, Nelson Pass has also the 200W into 8 Ohms XA200, with even more current than the XA160 monos.

All, please keep your posts respectful of your fellow Audiogoners. Remarks ad hominem are in exceeding poor taste, are completely unacceptable, and reflect extremely badly on the poster, especially when derogatory of someone's diversity. If you re...

Mak, all it means is that you are deeply into music. If music pervades your life, it will also pervade your thoughts, and even your dreams. Not only music plays in my head during the day, but often I hear music while I fall asleep, and not infrequ...

Cwlondon, as far as I know the old Timpanis are just slightly more power demanding than the newer 20 and 20.1. I'd be very interested in reading your findings with Timpanis and the X350.5.

No problem there Teajay, I just thought that the smaller MG 1.6 could be also driven with aplumb by x150.5 or x250.5, while the MG 20.1 may benefit from the even higher currrent afforded by the X600.5 monos. Yet these are all guesses on my part.

No fair, no fair. . . my tune has no words, but it's ma' right to play this game too! [stomping of old slippers. . . snuffling sounds of old geezer having major tantrum fading away. . .]

'T'is even worse when you are stuck with a repeating tune but you just can't name the darn thing. . . that is truly maddening! And now I even topped that. . . I know exactly what that old piece of music was, but I can't remember what it sounded li...

Sean, I found the missing info on Silver Sulfide resistivity right here on Audiogon on the "Do Cable Wear out?" thread. There is quite an exhaustive post on the subject, from which I am pasting here the following resistivity info:Copper: 1.7 X 10^...
ESOTERIC, WADIA -- How do they really sound?
Saxo, a ceiling of $7K for a used X-01 is not unreasonable. There appear to be two such units listed now on Agon: one of them lists for $6.1K. If you got it and then you did not like it, you should be able to unload it at a very similar price.
