Starting from scratch and say $5000
there are lots of incredible speakers for under 3K, especially used. Don't let the threads misled you. People can be warped here about how much one needs to spend for good sound quality. You just need to decide what's important to you, in a speake...

it sounds like you are focusing on the amp first. Of course, it's the amp-preamp section, my bad!

I put together my integrated amp+speaker from 2.5K. They are so much fun, if I had 7K, I wouldn't know where to begin. But I'd probably stick with the speakers I tried and liked (Dyna, Totem, Revel, Monitor Audio) and find matching amps.

I think it's a unique and not always harmless skill to know how to work people. I can see how it's frustrating to not able to  Lively Up the place. You can't blame yourself. (I have 0 of these skills. It reminds me of Planes, Trains and Automobil...

Making speakers “disappear”…..
@thomastrouble you started several posts with the same or overlapping questions within 36 hours and then you randomly follow up and respond to some suggestions. It’s not the first time I see this, but to me it seems counterproductive and redundant...
What's your experience with snooty HiFi salesmen?
I knew a  snooty salesman that used  the ploy of asking customers how much they wanted to spend then demonstrating a well matched system that was much more expensive before I had the opposite experience, most of the times they would refuse to c...
Does anybody pay a pro to dial their system in?
you have very nice components. Perfect for a small room. I have similar room size and a much cheaper system and I have two comments yes, some recordings will sound like crap on a good system. What sounded enjoyable until now, can now sound chaos....
Real world Loudspeakers what does very good cost ?
@curtdr I agree with you on "no need to be hostile".  I am on the fence about "comprehensible enough, as is the OP's." I am very confused about the title in several ways and it's probably just me.  And I explained myself back and forth, what bug...
