Advice- bi-amp using integrated amp
AFA I understand what you're saying, you need a connection as per 1 & powering as per "2".As to delays -- you probably will have phase irregularities between low & high. You probably won't notice these
Dunlavy SCIV 10
You'll normally have to alter the xover unless the replacement drivers are identical to the original. Madisound should know.2) BTW, have you tried googling the drivers' part No? It sometimes works.3) You have contacted Morel, I assume? If not the ...
The partner or wife factor
To paraphrase Detlof's Steiner quote: listening to music in the absence of a loved one can turn solitude into intense loneliness.Just an idea.
Wise audio aphorisms
*"In audio, as everywhere else, perception is reality."*"If it sounds good and measures well, it is good;if it sounds good and measures bad, you're measuring the wrong thing"
speakers for classical music
Verity or Vienna Acoustics, come to mind. Even better, older Quads, stacked -- but you're probably not into audiophile masochism;)
best 4.5" midrange drivers under $1K
Try 6,5" Lowthers and reconsider paper. It's very fast, hopefully not much faster than yr tweet. The drivers mentioned above, excellent though they are, are very difficult to work with and, I speculate, mismatched sonically with yr alu & fiber...
Alignment Snafu? Or?
MArk, it's important to know the exact spindle-to-pivot distance this arm was designed for. It's part of the overall geometry. If you're sure it's 211mm, then align to 211. Regards
behringer reference?
No reason why the Behringer shouldn't work BUT keep in mind that it is much easier to make a good 10 Watt amp than a good 100W amp and so on to 500W.You would probably NOT get the extra extension & quality you paid for from the speakers.
Does anyone out there NOT hear a difference in CD
Shadorneyou can approach 120 db+ dynamic range on the most recent delta sigma chips but remember your speakers are unlikely to have more than 60 db dynamic range above the noise floor - so do you need it?What a heartless remark:)! For a dB junkie ...
Does anyone out there NOT hear a difference in CD
replacing my Pioneer Elite PD-65 with a Cambridge Audio 840cThese players use different chipsets (generation & technology wise) so the sonic rendition will be different. How perceptible the differences depends on the rest of the system AND the...
Active Speakers: The usual suspects ....
For your application I'd recommend Klein & Hummel actives. ATC seems a bit over the top -- but great products nonetheless. BTW, the K&H above is wearing the ATC midrange driver.K&H xover is digital so you feed it a digital signal direc...
Affordable High Watt Tube Amp Wanted
David99 -- a bit late in the day, before you purchase anything, try programme material with ridiculous low frequency content (Bjork; anyone with synthi /emi induced "bass"). Look for cone movement that is NOT coincidental with the music being play...
How critical is the exact placement of the tonearm
Thom, Different offset angles move your null points, but given that we're talking about perhaps +/- a degree (due to manufacturing tolerances), this may not be such a big deal.Well, the wrong offset angle should increase your degrees of tracking e...
Zanden transport and DAC or PC audio system
Not to go into fashionable digi-bashing, but I couldn't agree morestart with digital and end up with vinyl, never the other way aroundA very simple procedure and one that gives a lot of pleasure, rather than get irritated and complain about digita...
Which external cross-over x-over to consider?
The one thing it doesn't have is balanced inputs and outputs. I like how my sims (pre & power amps) sound in balanced mode.I would enjoin you to consider a second subwoof instead of an external electronic xover. Sonically, there will be little...
