Who needs a Preamp??
@electroslacker Love your post!
Atma-sphere Updates
Please tell me how many amplifiers you have built?
Atma-sphere Updates
I am glad your unit is in tact and wonderful. Carry on.
Who needs a Preamp??
I will remind folks that The Truth preamp is a wonderful option with an input impedance of 6 trillion ohms and and output impedance of 3 ohms.  If your source puts out 1.5v or more of output, then you are good to go.  They all do today. No impedan...

The product in question may well sound great and sound great for many years. Ralph’s comment had nothing to do with the sound quality, owner, builder, circuit design etc... He simply stated that caps should be fastened to the chassis in a manner m...
Atma-sphere Updates
Reasonable comment and consistent with Ralph’s professional manner and professionalism.
Who needs a Preamp??
Doug said it best. I will say The Truth preamp has been a revelation to me over the last three weeks. It is a zero gain, active input preamp that for the first time in my audio experience, sounds better in many ways, to many big dollar active tube...
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Thank goodness for the relief. I started cringing when I saw that username on threads. Not enjoyable for the most part. Too bad really as he had some knowledge, but it was overshadowed by his nartow field of vision and manner.

Doug Schroeder Method, Double ic
Yes I have.  Double runs of 12 gauge Duelund Polycast wire on each of the three runs - Live, Neutral and Ground.  Very nice results.
Magnepan 3.7R's Jumpers and Resistors
I suggest the Path Audio line of speaker resistors.
Magnepan 3.7R's Jumpers and Resistors
You should use the Duelund stranded and tinned copper wire in cotton for this! Natural and organic sounding. So open and real sounding. You can use single runs of the 12 gauge or 4 runs of the 16 gauge in a starquad twist that sounds fantastic.
Hornshoppe "the Truth" preamp - any opinions?
I just finished upgrading the rca jacks, iec, adding Soundcoat damping throughout and Duelund tinned, stranded copper wiring. I have to say the improvement was very noticeable. I was not sure it would make that much of a difference, but it really ...
