Modifying the TAD-60
Not sure why you want to argue? Anyway, it was a big project and I loved it! No doubt one can go at this many different ways and I decided to start with the TAD 60 on this particular project. Let's just have some fun!
Modifying the TAD-60
Great learning experience is why! I had to understand what was going on in the amp without any schematic or solder by number instructions. I had to desolder many parts etc...all needed skills. I could also compare stock to modified when done which...
Modifying the TAD-60
I did the mod on that Tad 60 amp and it was fun. The deep cab actually looks quite nice live as the pics don't do it justice. A separate power supply is also a good idea with additional work needed. This was my biggest and most complete amp projec...
Can Digital beat our Analog installations?
Well, the pops and clicks were not terrible by most standards, but there after cleaned properly etc....I guess I have a low tolerance due to my years of digital only...
No more big power supplies for preamps
It needs to be huge and robust to make a true SOTA tubed preamp. No getting around it. Large tranny, chokes etc......... A must!

Pop, pop, click, click oh what a distraction it is ...... To me and the sole reason I cannot do records!
Why is there little interest in RTS couplers?
It marred my system. Big old scratch on my past Cary CD p.ayer. Yikes!
Your first amp?
B&K ST 100 and I loved it! Warm and musical.......it drove my KEF 105.2 speakers ....... That first big rig of mine will always be a very fond memory!
Soundlab speakers...how reliable?
Awesome speakers and the best I have owned to date!

No issues with new models. They will last many, many years. Even the old ones did. I owned several older sets and loved them.
Cause of different sound between dacs
Power supply is a huge factor. Also the output caps used are very, very important. Great active tube preamp is the best option IMHO with any DAC.
New Lampizator Level 4/ Version 4 DAC in the house
Charles I will also put some Duelund caps in the speakers when my budget allows. Look forward to doing that perhaps this winter.
New Lampizator Level 4/ Version 4 DAC in the house
Just an update folks as both the Lampi and new Bendix tubes burn in. I love this DAC. My previous DAC was the very highly reviewed and well respected Eximus DP1. Reviewers and owners alike rave on about how this $3200 dac shoots well above its pri...

Thanks Mitch2. I ended up curing the noise and sold the unit. Now have a TRL Dude again!
