Who has Luv for the Lyngdorf 2170 and is thinking about the 3400.
I noticed this on another piece of gear several years ago. My TRL Dude tube preamp. It sounded better with the top off. No kidding. So far I think the 2170 does also. I will evaluate over the next week. Sometimes the initial impression is not last...

LOL? Don’t think cat urine is a good tweak!

Tweak idea for you 2170 owners that improves the sound. More open and improved soundstage. Take the top off. Yup, take the top off.  See what you think Agoners. I tried it all day today. I like what I hear. Got the idea from Michael Green.

I know a dealer for Lyngdorf who told me the 3400 is better in every way sonically and feature wise.  He is very excited about the 3400 and has been selling the 2170 for some time loving the 2170. I trust his ears and comments as he turned me onto...
Talk but not walk?
The tube amp referred to is not point to point wired and all the components are certainly affixed pretty darn tightly to those boards. I much prefer point to point wired tube amps sonically. I looked at internal pics. If one does not glue, or bolt...

I also want to know more about “freeing” the capacitor? You can’t mean allowing it to vibrate freely? Next to other caps and parts that are loose and perhaps leading to a short? I find well damped caps sound better, not worse? I get the wood block...
JAM by Duelund
No, I only used them in crossovers and on the output of a digital amp....parallel position where it acted as a filter.
What's happened to the used high end market recently?? Sales are tough....:0(
Well part of this is the fact that great sound can be had with products costing far less such as Tekton speakers, Class D amps, digital powered DACs and making your own audio cables.   DIY is on the increase for sure. Many of us have just said en...
Does anybody not like Roon...based on SQ only?
Roon is wonderful and has exceeded my expectations both in SQ and features.
We give up perspective to avoid tone controls
The room correction used by Lyngdorf is something that has helped take my room out of the equation.  I would never be without now that it has spoiled me. I suppose the use of this unit is on topic.  I also use Roon’s DSP EQ some at times to compen...

Lyngdorf came through and I did receive a brand new display board. Very good of them. Much impressed with their customer service.
Upgrading from Integrated Amp to Separates
It is not class D. It is a digital amp. They are different. Neal at Sound Science may be able to work out a loaner for trial. I build and modify gear for others. Don’t let the weight or all in one thing throw you. The times they are changing. Ultr...
Upgrading from Integrated Amp to Separates
Look into the Lyngdorf 3400.  Brand new model. I have the older 2170.  I used it on the 40.1s.  Amazing together. Sell your dac, power cord and ICs as you won’t need them. The room correction in the 3400 is stunning and SOTA. I sold over $18,000 o...
We Need A Separate Forum for Fuses
I also built tube gear and the fuse is a bottleneck even in the most robust power supply. Best to avoid altogether and use a nice on/off breaker.  Next best is a nice aftermarket fuse as they do indeed improve SQ.
