Arc ref 250 vs. McIntosh MC2301
You are comparing 2 completely different sounds. Mac = rich, rounded, a little burnished, more of a traditional tube sound than ARC. ARC more transparent esp in the upper midrange/lower treble where the MAC can be less revealing. ARC is better at ...
Question for VPI Rim Drive Owners
I check and adjust VIP rim drive from time to time. Changes in weather, humidity, drive belts, lubrication, etc can impact speed. I check and adjust about every 3 to 4 months.

Dylan's Voice/ Better Now?
Agree with Ben. The range of emotion he was able to express when younger appears to be more limited as his older voice is more monotonic. Things happen. He's still the man.
Your best ''outstanding'' products in last 5 yrs?
Tie-- ARC Ref 40 and Wilson Sashas.
Audiophile grade country
Two Men with the Blues on vinyl is one of the better sounding records that I own. Emmylou's Wrecking Ball as well as Willie Nelson's Teatro are two of my favorite country-like cds of all time. The songs are outstanding. I have used both in demos b...

Audio Research ARC Ref 5 versions?
Other than Ref 5SE replacing Ref 5, I believe Ref 5 has only one iteration with same parts throughout.

Dynavector XV-1s vs. Transfiguration Temper w
The XV-1s, slow and anemic? I must respectfully disagree. Still one of the most well balanced carts on the market at any price IMHO.
I just heard the Wilson Alexandria XLF's Wednesday
Heard the D'Agostino monos with Sashas and agree that it is the best solid state amp I have ever heard and indeed the very first one I liked with Wilson speakers and I've heard many. Doesn't take me out of the tube camp but makes me think maybe th...
Audio Research, next upgrade?
I cannot disagree with vinyl.
Audio Research, next upgrade?
Another vote for preamp. Second choice--your source.
