Looking for a Warmer Sounding Phono Cartridge
You might consider the Grace Asakura One MC. Also, I saw a review about Grado’s highest level cartridge and reviewer said it’s the best sounding cartridge he’s ever heard. I believe it sells for around $30,000.00. I’ll take three!

Time of Day for best Sound
@tonydennison Yes, the ASR price tag is hard for many folks to justify even if they have the expendable income but believe me when I say that it does not disappoint. A battery powered generator may offer benefits. I’ve never tried one personally b...
Time of Day for best Sound
Because of electrostatic Mylar panels, the cold dry air is supreme. As for what time of day, doesn’t matter due to the fact that my amp runs off it’s own battery and power supply units. I use a passive PS Audio line conditioner for everything else...
You’re An Independent Dealer, Which Companies And What Products Would You Represent?
@mijostyn Cape Cod potato chips cost twice what Wise potato chips cost.

@vdotman by the way, they carry both of those brands as well as Naim and Bryston. Thanks for chiming in!
You’re An Independent Dealer, Which Companies And What Products Would You Represent?
@realgoodsound the dealer aforementioned does carry Cambridge Audio and Rega. When I asked about Cambridge Audio, the manager just slightly laughed and said it's directed towards a specific market. I guess that means directed towards the mass majo...
Speaker cable recommendations
I had Patrick Cullen build me a pair of jumper cables back when I used dynamic speakers and they were perfect in every way. Recently, I auditioned a $900.00 Audioquest Blizzard power cord for my DAC and it made a huge difference but not in a posit...
You’re An Independent Dealer, Which Companies And What Products Would You Represent?
Seems this conversation has taken a discursive direction, which is fine. Anyhow, I wanted to add that on most any post in these forums, people are jumping out of their skins to recommend their favorite brands and products. I just hope you feel the...

@waytoomuchstuff just to clarify, my friend did not ask me for advice on what brands to carry. Don't know how you got that notion.

Interesting folks haven't specified any particular components.

The aforementioned independent store was a long time McIntosh dealer but dropped them. I guess they felt like McIntosh was going off the deep end with their prices and their silly products such as a turntable with a built in phono amp.

Forgot to mention, they're now considering Harbeth but we'll see.

@ghdprentice The store I’m referring to has been around for at least thirty five years now. They are a top selling Martin Logan dealer. Focal, Totem, Naim, Bryston, Rogue Audio, Rega, ClearAudio, Audioquest, Straightwire, Wireworld and others. I k...
What was your first record?
Top pop radio hits released 1967. I can't remember the actual title. A Columbia red 6 eye mono pressing. Paula Clark, Nancy Sinatra, etc... I wish I still had it and I've searched the World Wide Web thoroughly but never even came close.
