Audio Grade Ethernet Cable
@kr4 Can you send me  a link? I was told to use a CAT 8 cable so I bought one, then I read that a CAT 8 cable carries too much noise. I'd at least like to have a solid understanding of the basics. Thanks!
Audio Grade Ethernet Cable
@cleeds Didn't know that thank you. @ghdprentice I have the wall wart for the modem and the router LPS cable plugged into a passive line conditioner but it's close to the stereo. I'll try running those to a bare receptacle on the other side of th...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
@dogberry I recently had them all replaced but had failure after just a few weeks. The tech who did the work is now history and I think I've found someone who's better qualified.
Mono Cartridge Stylus
I've considered getting the Hana SL Mono MK II cartridge because both of my local dealers sell Hana and have recommended it. Just yesterday I sent them an email asking about their Shibata stylus. But now I'm just thinking about getting the Audiomo...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
@billstevenson There was confusion on a previous thread about the difference between Microgroove mono pressings and the earliest vinyl mono pressings. Even though I mentioned on that previous thread, that Microgroove pressings had a narrower band ...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
@kennyc I'm referring to their description as to what stylus type is best for what type of pressing. About stylus size of Zero MONO 0.7mil is suitable for reissue monaural LP and a monaural LP of after 1960. 1.0mil is suitable for the monaural LP...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
This is why I posted the preferred stylus size of 0.7 for Microgroove pressings. Miyajima overlooks the Microgroove pressing altogether. I have a fairly large mono vinyl collection and most of them are Microgroove. I'd say one eighth of my collect...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
@billstevenson You're essentially saying the same thing that I posted. Miyajima doesn't mention Microgroove pressings. About stylus size of Zero MONO 0.7mil is suitable for reissue monaural LP and a monaural LP of after 1960. 1.0mil is suitable f...
Mono Cartridge Stylus
@billstevenson Why are they correct?
How are you playing your precious MONO Vinyl?
Sorry but I just had to bring this thread back given the new information I found about mono cartridge stylus size. So Miyajima claims that their 0.7 stylus is optimal for modern mono re-pressings and that their 1.0 stylus is for those earlier mono...
Another Major Audio Company Sold
@limomangus The Chinese are just better at Capitalism than we are. What American company can pay their workers $8.00 an hour? Anyway, I still have my HH Scott FM tube tuner. It's cool but I couldn't think of one person that I know that would want ...
Dead Uptone Audio LPS 1
@sbank I got an email from Alex telling me about the JS4 and explaining why they're unable to repair the LPS1. I'll look around for a preowned LS2 to see what I can find.
A Low Cost Pleasant Sounding Used CD Player?
I like the Rega CD Players. They're top loading, so you could use a Herbies CD mat with it.
Dead Uptone Audio LPS 1
@sbank Thanks, I've seen his activity on there before but totally forgot about it. I appreciate your help. So. my thought is that I might decide to eventually get a higher end LPS but will just run my DAC without the ISO Regen till then. My DAC do...
Dead Uptone Audio LPS 1
@sbank I did leave a voice mail and sent a message via their website. If they can do a repair, I'm wondering what the warranty would be. Currently I'm not using the unit at all.
