Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
Eldartford,This is why there's a BSC and zobel used in this speaker. It does away with the 10dB hump. It has a very smooth response through the 4 to 5khz area. You can tweak it just by changing a resistor depending on your room. A good internet fri...
Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
Eldartford, Unless you've heard a recent wide range driver. There's no way for me to make you understand that you can't hear the HF noise if it exists. Actually I've tested the response of this driver with a digital SPL meter(maybe not the best to...
Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
Hi Gregm..my speakers uses a Baffle step correction circuit that smooths out the 5khz bump. There's also no shout as with most wide range drivers. Yes I agree ..it's not the tweeters but the way some are used. I really have nothing against a separ...
Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
Themadmilkman,Yes I can see your point, but I also know I have no use for a tweeter at the present time. I hear plenty of tones and overtones without having what some consider tweeters drilling it into my head.;-) I also don't have to worry about ...
Ring radiator tweeters - the future?
I hope Ring radiator tweeters aren't the future. Since I don't use tweeters at all. LOLInfact I never plan to use them again, unless my upper frequency hearing gets so bad to where I have no choice but to bump up the dBs in this area.Look at where...
Tube amp with PSB Platinum T8?
The one and only time I listened to these speakes. They were hooked to an all Audio Research system. All equipment CD player,Preamp and Amplifier were all tubes through out. It didn't sound sluggish or slow with the tubed amplifier. Audio Research...
Bargain interconnects to tame treble & boost bass?
Jpbach,I'm curious ..why do you feel the need to replace the ICs right now? You may find your ICs are just fine with any Cd player or DAC.
Bargain interconnects to tame treble & boost bass?
"Cables at this point are like putting perfume on a pig."I like that one.. very funny!!! I agree the Sony is an ear bleeder. I just wanted others to say it before I. A nice Dac would certainly be a step in the right direction. Before you get to fa...
Bargain interconnects to tame treble & boost bass?
A few suggestions 1) Your amplifier maybe over damping the drivers. This could give you an imbalanced sound. If available maybe from a friend, try a different amplifier in place of the Bryston.2) Change the source, it will make more of a difference...
DIY cables Vs Mass market cables.
Yes lol ..I've also seen spools of this stuff. I don't know where the owner purchased it though.I looked at this wire close up..it looks like some of the copper strands are dipped in Aluminum or Tin..not sure though."Audiophiles shouldn't fall for...
Does the name GainClone ring any bells
South43 you must be very careful of the match between the speakers and the Gainclone. The closer the speaker load is to 8 ohms and of decent sensitivity..say 90 dB or higher. The better the results when using one. Gainclones are not designed to ru...
DIY cables Vs Mass market cables.
Robm321,If you've ever tried DIY. You wouldn't be asking me these questions. Again you ask me several questions that aren't logical. How would you know how good any cable is whether homebrewed or store bought against thousands of others? Your poin...
Speaker Wire material
The two metals do sound different too my ears. Real Silver has more of a silkiness to the top end. So far that's the biggest difference I notice.
DIY cables Vs Mass market cables.
Here's a DIY Wire Gauge Calculator, Damping Factor and SPL Loss Calculator that a nice Agon member sent me.From what I gather.. This is supposed to help you to find the proper damping factor for your speakers by tweaking the cable length and gauge...
DIY cables Vs Mass market cables.
Robm321With all due respect that logic makes no sense. It is much easier for a person to figure out what works in their system at home. Than a person 800 miles away using totally different components testing cables. There's no one magic bullet for...
