Klipsch, high end?
I have a friend who runs Alnico le Scala's he has the riser mod with 2x  4" ports in front. that riser extends bass down into the mid 30's hz range making them much more fuller sounding and IMO takes them from ok to great. I agree they can if not ...
Anthem STR or Lyngdorf TDAI 2170?
Grats on your perches I'd be interested in knowing what you think of the Micomega and its version of room correction. I've heard the Anthem Pre with arc room correction and was quite impressed. I was also looking at the Anthem-Lyndorf but was hesi...
Portable budget system. Class D Audio
Question if she already has Schitt Audio pre why not one of their amp's Vidar probably best suited for her speakers and same price range as the Class D amp. not that there is anything wrong with Class D, though it is probably smaller.
Emotiva vs Burson Audio
I'm not sure if your asking about Op-amps or the whole DAC, I use Burson Audio discrete Op-amp replacement components in my MSB DAC to very good effect. So if your looking to replace the Op-amps with their discrete Op amp replacement then yes go f...
Glue choices for making the Garrard 301 plinth
never considered ball bearings to be honest. I thought of led pellet's, sand and a synthetic putty we use at work for similar things but that didn't have the longevity needed. remember what ever you put in there is in there for life. In the end sa...
Need to adjust the speed every time I turn on turntable
one thing to consider is your power going to your house changes a few volts all the time that alone will throw off a turntable with out compensation.  My place fluctuates up to 10volts depending on the time of day and temperatures.
Music Hall vs. Schiit
who designs music halls DAC's? Mike Moffit at Schitt Audio is one of the founders of ADC-DAC's? Schitts stuff is upgradable too to the multibit version. that's the way i'd go if it was my money.
My Cary amp - the story of a hum and a bug
i'd see if you can find a person with the updated amp and see if they are willing to take internal pictures, that may be an option abet not an ideal one. glen
Glue choices for making the Garrard 301 plinth
Bamboo is quite expensive but worth the effort. in building. .and cutting ( it will burn through your tools fyi). I went with honey bamboo Ply.  bamboo ply is quite a bit thicker then other types of Ply also. I think the sheet sizes were 4x6 and a...
Turntable leveling
something to also consider: is the tone arm level to your plinth. good idea to make sure both are true to each other so when you level the whole table everything is true to each other. Not such an issue with tables that have an arm mounted by the ...
Looking for a good full range floor stander
klipsch horn should fill the room. ;-)
Help me decide on my next cartridge (<$900)
Chakstr I have not owned personally any NOS carts (well i suppose my VDH cart is well over 15 years old now) I'm going off what friends who have owned many have talked about during our weekly Audio club luncheons. So as I said MAY need rebuilding....
Help !
one last thing to consider is, if you have an internet connection and don't want to bother coping your CD's try a Tidal or Spotify streaming service. I was going  to get a Bluesound vault but after I got Tidal I can't be bothered as most CDs I was...
Glue choices for making the Garrard 301 plinth
I'm not sure what the builder of my plinth used for glue (I think it was a two part aircraft epoxy) but we went with bamboo ply instead of the birch. I have heard the same plinth design in birch and bamboo and the bamboo has somewhat more impact i...
Help !
Easies would be to buy something like the bluesound vault 2i. It has built in storage, streaming ability and DAC all in one unit. outputs in digital or analogue via RCA.  NAS  harder but has some advantages in larger potential size and better back...
