KT150 to KT120..or KT120 to KT150
I have a Carver Crimson 275 that comes with Tungsol kt120's.  Tried  kt150's and preferred the 120's.  Seemed like the 150's were just too much oommph, if that makes any sense.  After that I just recently got a quad of the new Shuguang Dawning ser...

I need advice for power cords
I had great luck with Anticables.  The change was immediate and obvious.  Start with source, DAC, or pre.  If you aren't happy with them send them back for full, no questions refund.
Speakers that can reveal orchestral instruments' positions
I have a new pair of X series Spatial Audio speakers that just stun me with their realism.  Great OB speakers created by the research of Clayton Shaw.  Best value and best representation of OB speakers on the market today.  Of course, your other c...
Best 6NS7 Preamp for a Pass Labs XA25 amp
Don Sachs custom pre.  A stunning 3D, holographic unit with the right speakers.  Uses those killer Miflex caps and the new WE Plus series Shuguang 6sn7's.  In the past I wouldn't have given you a nickel for a chinese tube, but this new Dawning ser...
My system is where I want it be and it sounds awesome...
The 275 amp comes with either Electro Harmonix or JJ tubes for small signal tubes..  I changed to NOS Telefunken for both the 12au7 and the twin 12at7's.  Big difference.  There are quite a few NOS tubes that will make a big difference in that amp...
Spatial Audio open baffle speakers, who has them? Worthwhile change from Maggies?
I owned Maggie 1.7i's and just received my new X5's.  I'm still breaking them in but the dynamics and bass are better.  The AMT driver is very detailed, yet smooth.  The DSP and N Core amp handling the bass are a big plus as now my amps simply hav...
Friend needs advice for $8,000 system
Since when do .7's cost 3 grand?  You better tell your pal that Maggie's are a bitch to drive and that he's going to need need high current amplification.  Most integrated's are going to get spanked trying to drive those unless they are in the exp...
Stereo Receivers from the past...
I still have my TOTL at the time Sansui AU9500 from 1973.  A monster of a piece of equipment.  Had the caps replaced a few years back but never listened to it.  A great integrated.  Still have the JVC separate tuner also.

confused and don't know what to do
A few people have mentioned a good starting point being an Anthem AVR.  I am just getting ready to put my MRX710 up for sale as I very rarely do the movie thing in 5 or 7.1.  I've decided to drift back to tubes for 2.0 music only.  I've nevervhadc...
Magnepan 1.7 i - Amp suggestions
I use a pair of Odyssey all in monos.  I tried a couple class D amps and the music was just blah.  A couple other AB units I tried went onto protection mode.  The Odysseys have the current needed to get everything out of the Maggie's.  With a Don ...
Phono Preamp
Look into Don Sachs custom made pre amps.  One of the best values on the market and it was a great addition to my system.
Would switching amps make a big difference?
I have the ML 13a's and was using a Prima Luna pre with Macintosh amp.  It was nice but I always felt something was missing.  Went to a Don Sachs all in pre and a pair of Odyssey SS all in monos.  I told both builders what I was using and they twe...
AMP or Preamp
How about a Don Sachs DS2 pre, with a whole slew of eligible amps?
