Has anyone compared the Heresy to new KLH model 5? I bought the Model 5s back in January. I have them driven by a McIntosh MA8900. Reason I chose them at first was due to them being a sealed enclosure. It reckons back to the days of my youth, 1976, when I owned speakers with similar attributes. Mo...
If you want the utmost clarity from your CDs I bought this disc several years ago. It does work but not on all CDs it seems. I did a blind test with my son-in-law with a certain Red Hot Chili Peppers cd and he, and I, could hear a difference in tightness of bass and clarity of sound-stage. ...
Differences the Project RS2 Transport and the (newest) Jay's Audio CD2 Mk 3 I have neither transport but had considered both models plus the PS Audio model (which is 6.5K!). In the end could not justify the cost. I did purchase the Audiolab CDT6000 to connect to an internal DAC on my pre-amp. It substituted for my Marant...
Fritz Carrera BE vs. Harbeth 30.1 Would you think that a McIntosh MA8900 is a good fit/ or too much for the Carrera BE speakers? I have a set of large towers running off of a separate MC312 and I'm considering a pair of book shelf stand mounts for a smaller room off of the main li...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl? I have a VPI Prime TT on a rack at chest ht. I also use a VPI outer ring to couple the record to the platter. I installed a TRU-lift to raise the arm but I attached a small strip of the soft side of a velcro on the top of the lifter that contacts ...
Is a separate phono preamp worthwhile? I wanted to update yinz on my initial thread. I purchased an 'open box' Sutherland Insight w/LPS that was in my budget and I'm amazed at the difference already. It sounds like I've changed my speakers or front end. It's that feeling many of you...

Keith Jarrett on the importance of audio sound quality +1 on quality of KJ ECM recordings. Top notch. Wonderful talent.
Footers under my speakers double the perceived value of my speakers! I replaced the standard spikes on my towers with a set of Gaia isolation. Measuring the spikes vs. the Gaia, elevation was less than 1/4 inch. Improvement was remarkable. +1 for Gaia.
Do you guys like Adele's music? Not so much. I do like me some Joni Mitchell tho. Cheers.
If you could bring back one great artist that has Tommy Bolin +1.
speaker/stand, couple or isolate? @avanti1960 Thanks and my apologies. Currently my speakers are on a ceramic tile floor that's on an underlying concrete basement floor. Cheers.
1973 1973. 15 yrs old. Very similar to millercarbon post. Loved FZ and Spirit - still do. My dad never got it, but loved vinyl ever since.Lava lamps? Still got em. Good old Goodwill. Cheers.
Anyone use auto lifters? Opinions Greetings. I too have used the Q-up with good results. The product works as advertised. I have since installed the more visually appealing Tru-Lift, which can be finicky, depending on the run out of the record, but lifts 98% of the time. There i...
speaker/stand, couple or isolate? Good day. I removed the spikes from my 90lb. towers and installed the Gaia ll. I was very pleased with the results. The particular song that struck me first was the "Doors LA Woman". There was a spacial quality that had not been there before. Che... |
