Any cables that give more bass
What is wrong with running your speaker wires thru a crossover, prior to the signal getting to your mains? That's what a number of subs have integrated in....they can either take an RCA direct input, if your pre has sub outputs, or you can connect...
Any cables that give more bass
I can't believe all you folks suggesting power cords and such......the OP needs a sub and probably some room modification or EQ. Let's get out of the "audio god" cloud....and lets help him really solve his problem. Then he can throw any amount you ...
Grounding Hum
I had a hum coming thru my preamp from a little 12V transformer used to power something unrelated that was too close to the pre.....look around the unit for anything that might cause the problem. Also turn off any dimmer, automatic light sensor an...
Office System -- Low Volume Speakers
Building on Saki70's comments...the NHT PRO system is just that....two nearfield speakers and a specially designed matched amplifier that allows you to move the boundary...an integrated system designed specifically for your intended use.You might ...
Rotel class D amps. Buy or not?
I replaced my ATI 1505 (5x150) with an NHT Power5 (5x200 - ICE) and it runs significantly cooler with no strain in producting monsterous bass from my NHT 2.9's which are very inefficient. It is absolutely quiet with no coloration that I can hear a...

Does power conditioning really matter?
Somec59.....maybe YOU can see some improvement, but I have seen absolutely none...nada...no change at all. Why does everyone assume that because they do or think they do hear/see some difference....then everyone else will see the great improvement...
Any cables that give more bass
that's not a problem....many subs have line level inputs...you wire your left and right amp outputs thru the sub and then the crossover in the sub feeds the non supb output to your speakers.
On one leg or two legs?
Are they on the same leg of the main power....(i.e. did you skip a breaker when you installed your new wire? Why did you share the ground...that's something that only electricians use to save money on cable and to avoid having to pull multiple cabl...
TV Selection: Two Questions
There are no deals at the Circuit City closeout. You will actually pay less if you wait for a best buy sale....or buy from Amazon or other quality internet seller. In fact most HDTV's are now selling for more at the circuit city closeout than they...
Office System -- Low Volume Speakers
NHT A-10 or A-20 used would be perfect..but use their amps and sell the one you have. Used they fall into your price range. Note: if you buy one of these, make sure they come with the special cables that run between the amps and the speakers...the...
Does power conditioning really matter?
Monster is a big profit producer for stores...that's why they push it so much. Avoid their gear unless it's about 50% off.....not that it's bad stuff, it's just way way overpriced. It is wise to get a surge protector for all the gear....and then to...
Grounding Hum
The cartridge may be picking up hum from a transformer in some piece of gear nearby....have you tried moving the MMF?
Any cables that give more bass
why does everyone think cables make such a big difference?First, you do need a subwoofer that crosses over at 80hz or below and goes down to at least 25hz. Then you need to equalize your bass because unless your room is acoustically perfect, you w...
On one leg or two legs?
Hanaleimike - While your idea of running separate grounds all the way to isolated/separate grounding rod sounds interesting, it is both dangerous and will likely violate your local building code. It's also not legal to work on your own electric pa...
