Records and CDs Happily the album art is becoming available in streaming. Qobuz now will have a pdf attached to the on line album, so you get to see it on your iPad or laptop while listening. So, hopefully that lack of art will go away and in future albums art wi...
Knockoffs- how can they just advertise so easily? @marshinski15 I have a big stack of Transparent Cable boxes around. It is surprising how much space they take up. I have thought of throwing them out. But I sure will not sell them to someone who is going to match the box with fake cables. Geeze...
Streaming for Dummies Do remember you get what you pay for. I have owned streamers from $200 to $22K and, in general, they incrementally sound better the more you invest. They are like every other piece of audio equipment. They need to be carefully chosen and of equiva...

Question about adjusting the balance My remote has a balance adjustment. If I feel the central image is off center, I’ll adjust it to center. To me some albums seem different. Probably just my hearing creates this illusion. But that is what a balance control is for. I never thought ...
Crackle and hiss on some albums @lewm No, I cannot say that with absolute certainty as it was from a series of upgrades of different tables and cartridges etc on different tts when I was moving from mid-fi to audiophile stuff. It all seemed to contribute to different degree...
Transparent Audio is anything but Transparent Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I always deal with my local dealer for Transparent cables, Echo Audio (they also do internet sales). They are fantastic. They will knowledgeably discuss the nuances of difference between generations and Ti...
Streaming for Dummies Well, probably a valid concern. But music streaming doesn’t use nearly as much bandwidth of video streaming. The better the streamer, the less susceptible to drop outs. I am not in the habit of waiting. Good time to start and gain experience. If ...
roon sound wasn't as good I have tried Roon on my main system. I can’t say I noticed a sound quality hit, but I wasn’t listening for one. But, while it has greater functionality than my Conductor app. I know how to use the Conductor app and paying for a service that cost a...
New Streamer, DAC or Let it Be That is quit a dilema. I would guess that you would not be posting unless you were trying to figure out how to achieve some more fidelity from your system. i am sure you know the first place to upgrade would be the AVR… but you cannot. So, accept...
Using a streamer to DAC to power amp, should I insert an integrated Congratulations. Tell us how it goes.
A quick question on what streamers to consider....... @toneranger58 I tend to buy the same brand as my router. I have used a number of Net Gear extenders. I gave in and finally had Xfinity put in their router/modem. My NetGear extenders work fine with them. I just get them at Best Buy.
What was the first power cable that you noticed a difference in the sound? @sc0ttc00ter Welcome to the alternate reality which is high end audio. Yep, power cords can make a big difference. Also, the difference between 1 meter and two can be surprising… 2 meters is better. Hence, it is the standard recommended cord len...
Crackle and hiss on some albums @lewm Neither can I. But that has been my experience.
Records and CDs Me too. 😊👍 I try to get up and play an album every week. But sometimes I don’t get too it… so I stream for the 20 hours I listen to music. |
