Intermittent audio dropouts when streaming Qobuz Hi Res files on Lumin streamer The Aurrender’s Conductor app is very good and reliable. It is being upgraded bringing more functionality. Aurrender does not support Roon at this time. There is rumor they are going to. I am personally not a fan and suspect Roon’s life is limited...
Intermittent audio dropouts when streaming Qobuz Hi Res files on Lumin streamer On the other hand I have not needed to reboot either of my two Aurrender ever… and they sound as good or better than physical media.
Aurender Model Choices Ooh. I would have taken the Cardas offer. That is a good cable. I tried Blue Jeans a couple times just to see if they were any better than other common cheap interconnects and cables… they were not.
How important is the efficiency of a speaker to you? My point of view is that it is a challenge to find speakers that perfectly match your specific sound quality values. It gets much harder by restricting yourself to a subset of speakers.
Aurender Model Choices Congratulations. You will be very happy. The N20 is an outstanding sounding streamer.
Intermittent audio dropouts when streaming Qobuz Hi Res files on Lumin streamer I had an Aurlic Aries G2 streamer that was always getting confused. It actually had a setting to reboot nightly. I turned the function on. It helped. Yep, anytime exibiting problems: phones, watches, modems, routers, TV, Amazon’s TV boxes, toilets...
Records and CDs Wow, I completely forgot about the stacked record changer. Hmm, I was thinking about VTA… then remember I used to have to tape a penny or a nickel to the tone arm to hold it down… yeah… nice warm tubes, but terrible record players.
Replaced Everything, New Gears waiting to be installed... Congratulations! This really helps minimize the serial break in problem of incremental component upgrades. You get it all done at once. But since nothing is broke in… try not to draw conclusions before several hundred hours have elapsed.
Cable upgrades OP, Thanks for your report on how it is going. Yes, the change from good power cords can be huge and really counterintuitive.
Is tube sound vs solid state easier to distinguish using headphones? I have had both a headphone system and main speaker system for the last fifty years. I have constantly upgraded both systems as I gained experience and wealth. I have spent an enormous amount of time listening to headphone systems, first as an exp...
Let the best be your guide Good topic. The vast majority of albums… I mean vast majority of albums sound great on my system. That is something that has varied a lot over the last fifty years. Over the last couple decades I recognized that my choices in components strongly ...
Aurender Model Choices The N200 is a great sounding streamer but the N20 is a much better sounding and more flexible. Most folks love the Aurrender Conductor app. Like all software, you get used to how it works and it becomes simple and powerful and it is getting be...
Roon Endpoint Streamers - Direct Comparisons between Current Offerings? @ddgtt +1 Grimm MU1 I think it is worth the money. I have had one in my system for a while. While it is not as good as my Aurrender W20SE nor is its price. I think it a good choice… or an Aurrender N20. Which I have not heard head to head… but I...
Flexible Power Cords For sound quality I unhesitatingly agree on Audio Quest Storm (as high as possible), definitely for amps… I would ignore flexibility on this one). Unfortunately they are not real flexible. Personally, sound quality is way more important to me than...
DAC suggestions for a reasonably modest system I think that PS Audio DAC recommendation was a good one. They are pretty natural sounding, which in the price range you are looking in will be the issue. |
