Commercial Vinyl Record Cleaning Service San Francisco Bay Area? Wow. I never thought of that. I bought a record cleaning machine about thirty years ago and have been doing my own. Great idea, I bet they have to be good at it.
I feel bad for GenX'ers that missed out on the 60s and 70s. There is a very emotional connection with music from the early teens into the twenties. With all those hormones coursing through your body, first connections with the opposite sex, events, freedom, and music get conflated in a wonderfully profound...
First tube preamp recommendations (under $5k) The ARC REF 5Se is an outstanding preamp. It was the center of my system for at least five years. Don’t second guess this decision, it is a world class preamp. It would be a worthy component to keep indefinitely. Last year I did a major system upg...
Very small, warm and dynamic speakers Congratulations. Looks great, sounds like they sound great also.
More watts or better power ? Normally I think more power more better. But that is a sweet and outstanding amp. Given your system and location, I would try power conditioning to all but the amp.
Any idea which headphones I’d like? @toddcowles I choose the premium parts upgrade and upgraded all tubes… Takatsuki 300B, Sophia 274B (I love the look and have used them before) and upgraded driver tubes (their offering for driver tubes are a bit different now.
Any idea which headphones I’d like? “ is that a Woo Audio tube setup, by chance?”Yes, my system has a Woo WA5-LE. I have had several Woo amps WA6… and WA6se. Each in turn sounded better and had more power. I wanted to go a couple steps further. And it was well worth it. The WA5 has ...
My battle with sibilance. Cymbals… really good point. I struggled with the sound of cymbals for years. I kept finding that the ting… and following ring was mostly distortion, and that when I got to a certain level suddenly they started sounding like brass… a very different...
Any idea which headphones I’d like? Putting together a headphone system is every much as challenging as a two channel system although it can be less expensive. You can see my main system and headphone system by clicking on my ID. Major players include Focal, Sennheiser, Hifiman, Aud...
CD Quality Versus Streaming Quality @jallan. +1As a practical matter a well chosen streaming system will equal or outperform a CD system (due to the greater availability of higher resolution files). The difficulty in assembling such a system will become easier in the future. Just as...
CD Quality Versus Streaming Quality For equally quality systems, in general, a red book CD is indistinguishable from the streamed version on my system. This was true for my previous system as well. Perhaps there are a few that have different files being used… but that is an exceptio...
"Need" Roon, Bluesound Node, or or other streamer? @sbank. +1Generic PCs do not make good streamers. They just sound good on paper. My streaming systems did not start getting into High quality sound until I got a dedicated streamer. They are highly shielded with quiet power supplies. There are ma...
First tube preamp recommendations (under $5k) Seriously a REF5 for $6,900CAD? I’d jump on that without a second thought.
Help - New to streaming and Zen Innuos Happy to help. Also, as far as cleaning up WiFi. There are a number of Ethernet cleaning devices. The EtherRegen is a ~$640 device to clean up the ethernet signal, there are also much more expensive devices that are highly reviewed. My audio guy b... |
