Digital Audio Output Differences? Is USB Audio Really The Top-notch?
USB is fundamentally a different communication method from SP/DIF and AES. USB needs packet conversion, retiming to a bit stream… so that is a function that now falls on the DAC. SP/DIF are the same through different connection types. Optical is u...
can it bee that audio research vsi 75 has lack of open highs/mid ?
OP,   That is terrible. What country?   Well from my experience with ARC and lots of audio buddies… open,  natural and detailed is what Audio Research is all about. Unless you are looking for etched clinical, ARC should be it. The VSI75 is per...
Do hi-end DACs offer true value or diminishing return...
OP, I only use the CD9se as a DAC. I have of course tried CDs… red book CDs and streaming sound exactly same, streaming better when higher resolution from Qobuz, which is common. I have owned a number of very good DACs… Sim Audio and Ayre… other...

I would expect a dealer to always disclose this information. I see them do it frequently. If I thought someone was I would ask a none threatening / question about it.    Actually I did the other day. Someone made the most absurd claim about cost ...
Which interconnect cable to upgrade first

Oh. I get it. Take it home for a week or two. Shops can be terrible places to evaluate… and it is your system that counts. It is a fantastic amp. If I had any possible excuse for another system, I would buy one.
Which would you recommend?
OP   No they are “high-end”. Audiogon has a very wide range of users. Some have inexpensive equipment and little experience, some high end systems and lots of experience, and everything in between. Some folks are interested in voicing their bias...

Do hi-end DACs offer true value or diminishing return...
I own and use three DACs: Schiit Gungnir ($1.2K), Ayre QX-9 2020 ($4K), and an Audio Research Reference CD9SE ($17K). The sound quality of each is commiserate with their cost.
Digital Audio Output Differences? Is USB Audio Really The Top-notch?
USB is a new comer… when PCs joined in the audio arena. Typically DACs had no USB input. At first DACs did not support them… it is packeted info… not just a digital bit stream. So, audio equipment popped up that only supported USB, then the USB i...

@bigkidz   You just displayed them? I thought I checked an found nothing. Now I understand your comments.
Which would you recommend?
I would recommend asking this question of the Audio Afficianado forum. This is average equipment with folks on this site. Good folks with really high end systems.
Using a splitter to connect DAC output to 2 different systems
Avoid splitters. The preference these days is XLR. While you may or not be able to hear the difference XLR / no adapter is the safest choice and future oriented.
