Looking for Focal Stella amplifier suggestions
Stellas fortunately are pretty easy to drive. They will benefit from upgrades of all your equipment for a long time to come. I prefer the natural tube sound and use Woo headphone amplifiers. I can recommend the WA6, WA6se, and definitely the WA5.....
Wilson Audio Specialties Chronosonic XVX loudspeaker!! only $300,000.oo
@edgewoundSo you are implying the Wilson speakers and the company is a fraud.
Preamp Suggestions with LFE output
Your subwoofer does not have crossover and volume control? I recommend getting  an audio subwoofer. Your system looks worthy of it. I would not trade in an Audio Research piece of gear unless I was upgrading to another one. I don’t know any high e...
Hum from speakers
A hum can be a ground loop. Are all components plugged into the same outlet. If not try that.is it a hum or buzz... the imply different things.
Krell FPB 300
I use old equipment as trade in. It gives your dealer the option to give you a discount by inflating the value of your trade in without offending the new gear company. I have a great dealer I work with. I would ask him. In the past he has said he ...
mystery muffled mids
Your description sounds like your bass is overwhelming the soundstage. Sounds like room interaction bass problem. Speaker placement
Ceiling Height Dilemma - Leaving 9' and Moving to 8'
I agree it depends on the rest of the room layout. I have an incredibly good acoustic space... the best I have ever heard an it has 8’ ceilings... actually pinched to 7’ in one area. FYI. It is a big open plan, highly irregular area.
I am getting some new tubes for my amp, and I want to do a 24-hour burn in. How?
I typically go through an upgrade cycle, upgrading most components. Breakin quickly becomes a problem... tubes need a dozen or so hours to get rid of that crisp sound, but good new components require 400-600 hours to sound right. If you buy a new ...
Jeff Rowland Aeris vs Ayre QX-5 Twenty
That will be really a hard choice, I have an Ayre, I like the look of the Rowland better. Good words have been used about it. What equipment are you connecting it to?
Dedicated line question
Required or recommended? What is it? The primary intent of a dedicated line in audio is to allow nothing else on the line to add noise on the line. Having a separate breaker helps the separation. Also, not having all that extra wire strung all ove...
Upgrade entry level or start over?
Having a look at your equipment I definitely recommend upgrading your Phonostage. You are using the Mani, right. The turntable and cartridge are pretty capable. .I would say overall your system is fairly well balanced. Looks like you have done wel...
When does one know it's time to upgrade?
@goose Sage advice.
Brand Synergy
@surfmuzI “If Brand Synergy is being about to use one remote then just buy a universal remote?“Good one! Single brand is not a requirement but an advantage. I think it is now more relevant than ever before. Very definitely true for the larger high...
Do you have ways to ease use of vinyl?
Thanks for the tips... I’m an old fart also. My TT is at ~42”... but I could add one more shelf and lift more. So I’m not the only one that doesn’t like bending over.A note: With contemporary equipment streaming can be as satisfying as vinyl at mo...
Room size.
I would think 20’ x 25’ would be about the minimum to be called large.Rules in audio can always be broken. I have heard an outstanding system in something the size of a walk in closet... and not a big one. I have hear terrible sounding, very expen...
