How did you get started in this hobby @artemus_5 @cleeds +1 For me as well… a lifetime pursuit… something constant through career changes, partners, lifestyle changes, where I lived. I always had state of the art audio systems and a huge music library when I was out four w...
Technics SU-R1000 @nonoise +1 Every experience I have with an equalizer has been negative… as in reducing the overalll sound quality. So, yeah… just break in and enjoy it. My experience is that equalizers are attempts at symptomatic relief… but which neve...
New equipment @rvpiano Well maybe audio is like sailing to you… it is about the process, not the destination. I like sailing but in audio I cherish the destination when all the pieces are at the same performance level, are synergistic, and I am out of ...
new kef ls60s just arrived Cool. Thanks.
Technics SU-R1000 What you described as the dire warning sounds like it says: do not do what you would like to do. There is little difference between connecting the pre-out to the amp in and dong same with and equalizer. I certainly understand your quandary.
Qobuz or Apple Music? Paradym shift. When I first got a steamer which sounded as good as my other sources I typically did what I have done for the last fifty years… searched my memory for an album on the streaming service and play it. Ocationally it was not there… bu...

New equipment 😊👍 I don’t know where you are in the disease. But if this is in the construction of your first great system @dweller is correct. There is a lot of shuffling needed to build your first satisfying system. But once you get there it is worth it. T...

Point of diminishing returns for a Network Streamers? @rman9 Thank you. Your system looks beautiful as well. Luxman has improved from good to great over the last couple decades. Good choice.
Isn't it really about quality of recording? @rumi Thanks for your perspective on recordings. Valuable to hear. Personally, for years I pursued the latter “good” system… scrape details with lots of slam and over the years switched to the kind that makes all recording sound better… a...
How Audiphiles are Different @mikelavigne Mike. Thanks for your post. You come across as very much the essence of an audiophile. What is important is dedication and open mindedness… then approaching getting the best sound by whatever method (frequently massive effort with a...
For those that have separate Streamers & DACS OP, An Aurender streamer is a complete solution. Plop it down, hook it up, open your iPad App… your done. For me… the best sound I have had… simply controlled and integrated with all my local files. No screwing around. |
