Amps for Paradigm Persona 3f
returntomusic OP38 postsGeorgehifi- not sure if this helps with impedance & phase angle question, the L&R speakers in the link below are the Paradigm Persona 3f speakers-https://www.soundandvision.com/content/paradigm-persona-3f-speaker-s...
Class D is just Dandy!
Very understandable, as your Maggie 2.7's like most Maggie's has a very benign 4ohm load that doesn't need that much current, just watts. You should use the 4ohm tap for best control, penalty is you'll loose wattage compared to the 8ohm tap. Cheer...

Amps for Paradigm Persona 3f
I believe that all speaker manufacturers should supply impedance v -phase graphs with their speakers. No one yet has done one to give a good indication of if a pair of Krell mono blocks are needed or they can be happily run from a 10w single ended...
Class D is just Dandy!
But again that’s preference. I was mislead by dealer and the internet that led me to believe that Maggie’s required brut power it wasn’t until I decided to let my ears be the judge and bought a class A amp that puts out a whopping 95wpc. I’m not...
System Dissatisfaction - My Own Fault
mceljo OP969 posts02-11-2018 9:02am@georgehifi, I am interested in your thoughts on the Pathos Classic One MKiii being a good match for my Focal 836v speakers. With it’s solid state output, while it will work fine and probably sound good, the Pat...
Component Placement
Component Placement widespreadpanic I will have a preamp, two mono amps and a CD player/transporter. Where is the best place to put these and what should I set them upon? I have Magnepan 1.7i’s. Thank you for your consideration and reply. Not b...
Pass Labs XA25 amp?
His amps are now getting on the low side (20-26db) of what used to be normal gain (28-32db). Doing this he can utilise more of the gain that preamps have to offer, and maybe leave a gain stage out of the amp/s now. This is good as the s/n ratio wi...
Class D is just Dandy!
George, its more complex than that You keep saying it Ralph, it’s the main cause for me, and even noted SS amp manufacturers like the highly regarded Solution amps deigner/owner ect."Cyrill Hammer (Soultion Amps) "if you want to have your produc...
Class D is just Dandy!
It is the notion that Class D switching speeds are the cause, and that someday they’ll be fixed that irritates me. If you guys are going to point a finger, get the whole story right. It’s not the switching speed per se, but the output filter that ...
Ripped off, any ideas?
jb505   Ripped off, any ideas? This tube Fischer is collectable.I don't know about the US, but there's been a bit of this going around in Australia with unscrupulous service techs with "collectable" older hifi that can fetch good money. They h...
gain switch and volume control position
marktomaras   Is there any insight or advice on these two setting options? Always best to use the volume level that’s highest, as that way your using more/most of the signal that’s coming in, and not throwing it away back into the ground plane...

No it will work fine, it's not the Lightspeed that has to drive the Pass, it's the source that has to drive both paralleled. So long as your source is 100ohms or less output impedance. As it’s this that has to drive the combo of 10kohm LSA and 18ko...

It mimics very closely a 10kohm logarithmic  potentiometer.Cheers George
